This does have the misunderstanding trope, which I’m not a fan of. Though compared to others, this time it’s a bit more understandable. First, as far as she knows, her father doesn’t love her, so why should he believe her if she said that she was being abused? And second, it’s obvious that everyone questions her capabilities, so again why would she trust that they would believe that she was being abused? Especially if her aunt denies it? It’s still an annoying trope, but a bit more justified than others.
