No Arguing With Mr. Mo

Complete | Suye | 2019 released

~~~~SPOILERS~~~~~ Ending Rant~~~~~ Ok, so I actually like the ending in a way. Was it the ending I wanted? Nope. But I think it made for a story that took me on a bit of a roller coaster ride. The author did a good job of taking a cute funny story and turning it into a more mature look on love; a “right person, wrong time”/ “love is complicated” sort of thing. When the story started, I was having a laugh and had a lot of expectations for many of the characters which never paned out. For that I gave it 4/5, I would have loved to see more from the side characters. I hope we still get to see a side story with a time skip where the main characters end up together but for now, I’m glad they didn’t. If Xiao just suddenly got over his years of trauma and self-doubt it would’ve cheapened the story in my opinion. Mo is by far my favourite character and it hurts me he got left. His family treats him like crap, his coworkers don’t understand him/fear him, and the person he loves leaves him…..I need Mo to have his own story where he gets away from everything and opens his own restaurant. I think the ending did leave it open to the possibility that Xiao and Mo could be together. In a way I think Xiao walked away from Mo because he does care for Mo and knows he will just hurt Mo as he is. Xiao needed to separate himself from his secretary persona that originally draw Mo in. Mo on his part did try to understand Xiao through learning about him from others. Ultimately Mo let Xiao go because he finally understood how Xiao felt. Taking a quote from the internet “if you love someone, set them free – true love involves giving an individual freedom to make their own decisions” Ok, end of rant……but seriously I came for a light hearted story and wrote an essay after getting hit with the feels XD
