The story revolves around a beautiful POEM. It was meant to be slow, romantic, slice of life. Mature readers get that. The uke was in a single parent household with an abusive , criminal mom. He struggled to stay up on his studies and pt work just to be near the alpha for YEARS to be noticed by his unrequited love. Sweet with a side of bitter and angsty. he almost gives up until that flashback in c13 when he realizes he and seme love the same poem. What can I hold you with? HOW CAN I HOLD ON TO YOU? The omega made a move on the alpha the morning after he got drunk on one drink...he did not know he could get mpreg bc he was a late bloomer. Facts. The pregancy wasn't hidden, the alpha was in the US for all those years. He chose not to burden the seme with a child. The uke made it big at some point, trailblazing away with his blog and made a good life for his daughter. Admirable. The alpha was left brained, logical, all math, stoic af but he was kind. He didn't understand love and what he felt for the uke back in school. He researched self help books and convinced himself it wasn't love, maybe it was a phase...but he couldn't stop thinking about the uke. Fast forward.. He wanted to take responsibility for having a kid and he wanted to be in her life.Good guy. The best part is the uke turned him down. He held out for the reciprocation of his love and dedication and was willing to move on since the seme couldn't figure out his own feelings because he and his daughter deserved better. #selfesteemgoals Endgame: they gave themselves to each other completely.

The power that alphas have in this world is nightmare fuel...omegas are limited in who they can choose as their life partner to elite alphas only-- per govt decree, and they are rounded up and institutionalized at an impressionable age into an 'omega school/ prison' where they are taught that their purpose is to breed and they will no longer belong to themselves..ie have their own personal identity... once bitten. There is no chance they will even have an opportunity to fall in love with a caring Beta. And god forbid an abusive alpha forces a bond on them. Then there is the fact that our MC could be marked before his heat--as a young child even. If it's like that why not give them a (dog) collar? *shudders* They don't even have the freedom to go out and play unsupervised. In other omegaverses ABO are all equal until puberty, that is why this is so sad. I guess the question we have to ask ourselves is are the omegas being treasured in this verse or oppressed all to hell? And I know the Alpha was a child too when he made the mark so the author wants us to excuse him for pushing himself on our tiny MC but even kids know right from wrong. Our poor MC never had a choice and never will for his partner in life, even if he were to fall in love with a different Alpha. The only way I can see this being fluffy going forward is if it's the marking alpha who is the dependent one.

Omega sells himself as a prostitute at school bc his parent abandoned him and he has no way to pay for school--he has a scholarship but needs extra money for medicine, clothes, etc. So far the MC has had consensual sex only but there are violent scenes of other omegas being raped in chapter 3 that are disturbing af! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Gang rape flashbacks, several attempted rapes in the story but the fated Alpha is superman, seriously. The story itself is so damn fluffy yet it will take you through so many emotions-- a Pandora s box overflowing with warmth and love at the end.
