IM RLLY HAVING FUN W THIS ONE, the initial dynamics r so much fun!!! we get the stereotypical uke/seme design, backstory, personality, but what they do w that is totally not stereotypical. MC is pushy and knows how to interpret shit and hes smart and when unwanted advances r made he fucking calls ml out, but then when he does fall he doesn't take wishy washyness for an answer and strives to feel comfy in his new relationship. ML is an asshole, yeah, but it works bc its set up from the beginning and u can see his initial interest and how that shifts to romance. is he a bit blunt abt it (yes) but so is his partner so their getting together is quite quick despite the tension, and i like that idea that "once i. make up my mind i dont half ass shit" bc it totally fits his character!!! although i did prefer the tension before i do like that we keep this banter throughout and some hazy use of timeskips let us see them in their domestic personal and worklife, so thats fun!! and the underlying sister plotline looks like a great set up for a compelling plot and villains. I think its a great way to show how despite mc being colored in ml's tactics/world (necessary) ml is being colored in mc's ideals, and thats more lasting. Its been great to see ml open up!! I also like that they highlight the role of privilege in terms of how they got to where they are and the actions they can take, kinda grounds the whole thing into a real world despite some flights into romance land lol. ALSO i think its so funny how much the art's changed, ep1 is very much old 90s, and then we get a pretty sharp jump in chs. 2-? and now its pretty standard for the time, and at every single poitn its been adorable!!
Overall a rlly fun read, with really interesting characters, a cute bantery dynamic, and a compelling greater plot/problem!
