Destiny's manga / #Strong Male Lead(61)

Apex Future Martial Arts

Ongoing | 常盘勇者 | 2021 released

️ Action, Cultivation, Martial Arts, Regressor It’s by no means “unique” as it is similar to other mangas in the same genre(s), but it does have a lot of different elements. For example, the whole storyline is really interesting and well written, you can tell the author put a lot of thought into the world building of the story. The characters are also well rounded and vast; each having unique abilities, personalities, and likeness. I especially enjoy the will power of the male lead. He really is willing to do anything for his loved ones, even if it means giving up his own future. His personality is also just the right mix of serious and goofy. Really well done. *If you’re wondering about romance, as of ch. 130 there is none. There are only glimpses of his future relationships, but nothing beyond knowing who he might be involved with.

The Player Hides His Past

Ongoing | | 2022 released

️ Supernatural, Magic, Fantasy, Comedy When I first read the intro, I thought I wasn’t going to like this, but I changed my mind, once I read more. It is so funny. I love how different Grandfell and Lee Hoyeol are. It makes it that much more interesting and comedic. I have a good laugh watching them question each other’s actions and thoughts. It’s also has a very unique storyline, that I’ve never seen before. It’s easy to get lost in all the action and drama.

Infinite Mage

Ongoing | | 2019 released

️ Magic, Adventure, Character Growth I was surprised how different this was compared to other magic based manga I’ve read. The world building is very unique and well written. I haven’t seen any other magic manga like it. It’s very heavy on the explanation part of magic, which can make the story confusing at times. As long as you read slowly and understand the plot well, it makes enough sense that you don’t have to know the how just the what. Other magic based manga I’ve read mostly focused on the aftermath of the magic (the what), instead of how they achieve it (the how). This manga talks about math, numbers, pi, equations, etc to explain how magic is possible and how it is created. It’s a unique way to explain the universe of the world in this manga.

Drug-Eating Genius Mage

Ongoing | | 2022 released

️ Magic, Supernatural, Isekai, Fantasy I was not expecting this to be so original. I haven’t seen anything like it. It does a great job of mixing muliple genres and I like the great world building. It’s very well explained and thought out. I also like how complex the characters are.

Boundless Necromancer

Ongoing | | 2019 released

️ Action, Game-Like, System, Supernatural, Isekai, Necromancy I thought this was gonna be another solo leveling copy, but it’s actually really different. The only aspect I find similar is the tower/dungeon part and the game-like system. The main leads necromancy powers are super unique. Other necromancers I have read about focus on summoning the dead, but this guy mostly just steals their powers. He also seems to get stronger very fast, so there isn’t much time to feel bored. Hopefully in the future we get to see more of him outside the tower. Read first on webtoon under title Boundless Ascension.

Dragon-Devouring Mage

Ongoing | | 2022 released

️ Fantasy, Reincarnation, Magic, Dragons It is good, but it is also generic. The storyline is very similar to other of the same genres; reincarnation, fantasy, magic, etc. Although, I still found it to be interesting. To me it doesn’t feel like I’m rereading something I’ve already read, which is a common occurrence with all these similar mangas being written lately. I think if you enjoy mangas like this you will like it, but if you don’t like the generic reincarnation storyline then you may find it to be boring. Reading on Aidoku app
