Once Kou spread Kiku's ashes to the ocean, he will comeback to Shirou. They live happily ever after. Together. Shirou will not be lonely. Babyyy deserve to be happy with the person he loves :( I read several comments theorizing abt the 'open' ending. Some said the ending wasn't open at all bc once Kou went back, he will die. His body will be found. Shirou's granddad won't be 'unable to love'. And Shirou's childhood won't be neglected by his parents. The photo inside the frame will be his parents instead of his granddad. Oh well
