Oh, I really love this. Made me soft and teary-eyed every chapter. There's a fantasy element, of course, and the story is enriched with this sort of subliminal message of the "meaning of life" is what you make of things. And of course, the tanuki drawings are very cute.

This was devastatingly beautiful. I actually shed a few tears! It was poetic and soft and warm. Def going to grab a copy.
