Niehime to Kemono no Ou
Ch 78.3: Here with a baseball bat to beat the stupidity out of Anubis for 1) being a racist for most of the manga, 2) being a racist and allowing the King he pledged himself to to be in jeopardy 3) being a racist. ch 86: Ok, fine, Anubis isnt a sack of shit though he is kinda, he still is the king's loyal aide blah blah. But really the whole "what is the purpose of my birth" hit a little too close to home lmao.

How precious!!! <33 I love the no-drama gayness in here where all the background characters were basically supportive like their friends and the bar coworkers. I love supportive extras! Uke and seme have been good friends for a good while and are currently roommates. Uke has secret feelings for the seme and when celebrating his birthday, got super drunk and kisses seme. The seme thinks uke was just doing it just cause while the uke is afraid he offended the seme. Uke decides to go to the bar seme bartends at to get some liquid courage and tries to hit on the seme but the seme rejects him. Misunderstands ensue: uke thinks seme is disgusted but seme thinks uke was drunk and had a lapse in judgement so was afraid and ran away. In the end, the two confess their feelings to each other with slight nudging from their mutual friends and get together.

The romance development between the two characters didn't particularly feel special or illicit a spark in me (I think because the two did not seem interested in each other per se) but I still enjoyed it. Genuinely made me snort in some areas and I like that it was an unconventional "side character" story. I also really like that Kenneth became a (reluctant tsundere) friend and didn't feel anything anymore. My only complaint is, again, romance development and how they swept Ibelin under the rug and left unanswered questions. Does the CP also not care about Ibelin anymore? Where did she go after? Why was she there in the first place? I'm going to assume she just fucks off back to her hometown and the CP doesn't care about her cause he showed up to the wedding stag. All in all, this shouldn't be read for plot but rather mindless entertainment.

This author always writes likeable couples. I also enjoyed Azuma (the prostitute), she was really kind. Also I wish Umi's shitty, abusive parents get bent on a stick.
Ellin's Solhwa
I am super glad that every character in here was more or less complex and though the antagonist characters were "bad" they had their reasons. I enjoyed the fact that everyone had a satisfying end, especially King Light (or actually Moon but you know...). I like the tidbit for him because he is probably the most pitiful character and it was certainly bittersweet to know that he got another chance at a happy ending even though he would never see his past loved ones again. I really liked that he was a good person as well - quick to do what was right and didn't fight over women. I just have a lot of praise for him!! All in all, while the plot and characters were not particularly mind blowing, the story has good flow and characters. It is non-cliche with great art and a nice wrap up.
