The Baker on the First Floor
decent read. the plot is about a manhwa artist who lives above a bakery. gets a bit angsty. the manhwa artist is a little bit mentally ill and has traumatic stress disorder about previous abusive relationships it seems. baker downstairs is a little bit creepy/sinister at times; also he has a oddly competitive relationship with his sister/has homophobic chaebol family.
Cover Up
hmm this author is a really good artist but the plots are really just an accessory to the smut. tattoo artist bottom x gangster top.
Dolphin Fairy
premise: whale ppl... they leave the ocean and become human. most of them are unsociable and human society is foreign to them, so they're a bit cold and unreciprocating of emotions; some however have acclimated themselves well. theres three couples. the first one (ch1-ch35) is a self deprecating suicidal college aged man who falls in love with his emotional detached sexy swim instructor. their relationship is unhealthy. the second major relationship (ch35-ch67) is a big burly but unsocialized orca whale x an adult working man. he teaches the whale to become human/they have an interesting long distance relationship dynamic. the last couple (ch68-end) is a flashy mischievous pink dolphin x a rich boy. they like each other a lot but have a lot of communication issues bc theyre young and dumb. there’s a lot of angst and a lot of smut. its a decent read. i like the last couple the most. the first one was a little bit depressing and weird.
Anata wa Iyarashii Hito
just smut. they're cops. the top is a starry-eyed young man infatuated with the bottom who is an older professional cop who is very good at his job. however the bottom is actually a masochist into bdsm. top encounters his senior sending videos of himself masturbating in the bathroom and offers to be his partner.
On Doorstep
mostly smut, but the plot is satisfying. a young man makes his living as a pickpocket (top) and gets caught by an older ex-cop (bottom) who now works at a bookstore. rather than turning him in, the man offers him the opportunity to redeem himself by working a respectable job at the bookstore. a little bit angsty: the ex-cop takes a leave of absence bc he witnesses the death of his partner. both characters very muscular <3. the art is very beautiful. this artist has a knack for fine line work. top is really pretty when he cries. the ending is sweet/wholesome.
Walk on Water
honestly i hate glenn/creed i think he's a horrible person for exploiting all the those people and esp for trying to make a documentary about a rapist with a fuckin rape scene???? yeonwoo's friends are clutch for being so anti glenn bc he's genuinely such a shit human being. other than that, such an interesting story and relationship. chang liu also shit human but it was interesting to see him try to redeem himself at the end sorta. i appreciate that he recognized he was unforgivable and still tried to buy back the rights to that porno they made.
Wet Sand
jo moved back to new york to apply to photograph schools and thus moves in with his aunt. he snags a photo of a beautiful man while standing outside of his aunt's restaurant after work and the man begins to occupy his mind.
Summer Solstice Point
divorced woman x her young part time worker
Sadistic Beauty
