mc: shut hell. comrades killed by mongols - also shares body with sudoh, his reincarnate from modern japan. mc: yural, son of mongolian khan. running away with voice of jade - the last written work of tangut (with help of old man). he has big dreams of equality brought by writing. brothers through childhood with the black tiger (God arrow harabal)- a formidable archer who is the last survivor of his Tsog clan. Nalan twin of khan's primary prince tolui. Melumi side kick who talks to animals. Veronika: nun that has lesbian affair, was branded as a witch, is a bit of a 'doctor'. Influencing the khan in his desire to eradicate written language (b/c he is also branded) Nalan schemes to kill the current khan in order to put his brother on the throne without risking the shame of the branding on their father's back. He planned to do this by getting shut hell and harabal to do this. His brother got wind and sabotaged his attack. Everybody except Nalan survived the attack. As a result yural has the same branding on his back. Yural realizes the best route is to infiltrate the mongols. He brings half of the voice of jade to the mongols and uses the death of the old man and harabal (a fake death) to prove himself to the mongols. The other half of the jade escapes with shut hell - who "steals" it from Veronika (who kind of loves her :P). Tolui knows Veronika did not reveal she had the jade right away and as punishment cuts off her feet. Harabal is traveling with melumi.

2 Girl is interested in history and agriculture. Gets sent back in time. Currently put in charge of a village to increase agricultural output or nobunaga... will probably kill her. She dealt with deer by laying traps and developing a crossbow. She also befriended a wolf. The male villagers respect her now.
