june 22, 2024 7/10 wow.. so taiga's the bottom between him and chiaki. i was expecting the opposite because of the manga cover but was actually expecting taiga will be the uke.. and it turned out that way. man, the sexual tension between them is insane. i can feel them real hard. i find this manga beautiful in a way that it's totally different from the other BL manhwas/mangas out there. i love how real it felt reading. like the emotions are raw and are just true. i love how everything was conveyed. their first encounter was like too normal that i thought they will be just your normal friends or they just know each other.. but turns out the manga will revolve around them.. specifically chiaki, the seme. and that's rare. the manga is so good and beautiful. i definitely enjoyed my time reading this:3 #ChiakiAndTaiga #LoveTheTensionBetweenThem

june 22, 2024 6/10 lol i like the character design and idk, the future might entail death to poor dylan, but since it's just up to my imagination and it wasn't really suggested here in the manhwa, I'll rate this based on my enjoyment reading this. the seme is waayy too old I'm guessing he's around in his 50's? and the poor lad ran away from home after his 10th grade? and it was two years ago since. so that means.. he's too young! and look how reactive he is to everything. that's a young man right there. so yeah, the age gap is just insane. nonetheless, their chemistry is cute lol. it was 70% sex but it was fun so no prob to me lol the art is weird on the body proportions but i guess that's just how it is made that way.. like, signature style to make it a bit different from the other manhwas. July 28, 2024 9/10 this sehyuk guy is downright crazy he really doesn't take no for an answer and does whatever he desires to get the result he wants. i feel bad for hamin for having to put up with this guy's psychoness, but i also can't deny how good their chemistry is. better than most of the BL stories I've read. hamin's full of surprises that even sehyuk fell for him despite this nasty character and temper of his. the contrast between their personalities are palpable and fits in just right. they're like yin and yang, beautifully complementing each other's strengths and weaknesses, like they're each other's buttons. the story delved between these two young men "coincidentally" encounter again, having to be together at all times to ensure safety for the head mafia's son named Hamin. Sehyuk, the skilled and smart-mouthed trusted man of Hamin's father tasked him to be on his runaway son's guard at all times, in every possible way. there's something underlying about this manhwa (art looks like a manhua tho keke)— maybe the art, the plot, the characters, the smart execution of scenes, the smart comebacks— that got me hooked up and read this on one go (except when i had to go to practice and go to sunday morning service). the plot might be cliché, but the execution of the storyline, bit by bit, seemed like it's carefully written and although the fanservice may be strong on this one (what's even crazier is i remember my conversations with AI on Character AI while reading this especially coz how sehyuk replies in a flirty way but still has a thick hint of dominance in the way they act. phew) like your typical mafia MC, but the uniqueness of sehyuk's character shines through the other MCs from the same mafia-themed stories. I have to be for real, ngl, this is so good and I'm glad i finally read this. october 6, 2024 6.7/10 a really interesting manga, i would say. their relationship was anything but fast-paced; it was a bit of a psychological and anticipates you with their unexpected actions. they were rather unpredictable in a sense that me, a reader of countless BL, didn't expect they'd do a certain thing. as if they're human just like us, acting, saying, doing things on impulse, driven by a sudden desire and bursting within you enough to make you do a certain action. this is how humans are. conveyed in this manga are how actual people are in real life. sometimes, we dont get the result we wanted, for they've done instead what they'd do as an individual being. they have mind on their own, and they can decide what to do. and not because they're BL characters, they'd certainly follow a particular pattern. subsequently, in conclusion, this was honestly a good manga. slow and deep. makes you feel they're human. #Hikaru×HaruChildhoodBestFriend #TheyBeManipulatingEachOtherButExpectTheUnexpectedLol

october 29, 2024 10/10 what i thought to be too much of an extensive read for a shounen-ai turned out to be one of my greatest read of Boys Love. around 50+ chapter, i decided to take a break reading this and hopped on to other BLs only to find most of them to be cliché and unsatisfying. deciding to come back and read this in one go is what a pat on my shoulder, 'cause im glad i did. I've always liked semes like hanhoo, who only shows affection and obsession on his loved one while coming off as rude or cold towards others. chansol, being a pure and kind soul that he is, wasn't so hard for me to fall inlove with his character as well. he's got no bitterness and cliche uke personality in him and only radiates as himself: a real character in this story, an embodiment of his own name. what i liked about their bond is how undeniably strong their chemistry is together, and how they cant seem to go without the other. especially when the August case were solved and they now had the time to focus on themselves, their relationship progressed and are open to everyone. im ecstatic to see they're both vocal to their feelings and not covering them by sexual acts. maybe 'cause this is Shounen Ai and the unreasonable smegss and rape scenes are nonexistent here so it was overall a healthy read, but it was a good take and I'd rather read yet another BL without hot scenes provided that they'll all be wholesome but ofc, not being deprived of a lil fan service here and there as exactly what this story blessed me with;) to be frank, i didnt expect this story to have a deeper and interesting plot then i thought it would. the August case was intricate and smartly-played by Calvin, and this shows how this manhwa is actually capable of; that it's not just your regular BL romance but also beyond it. im so glad i invested my time to the right manhwa, and i honestly enjoyed the story. those little scenes of hanhoo and chansol are tirelessly adorably "nakakakilig" that truly never fails to set me on my feet and saving their saved picture in my albums lol. hanhoo's so perfect and chansol's an angel

january 7, 2025 9.5/10 To Deny the Route has to be one of the most entertaining and smartly written BL I have ever read. I'll start with how the art is undeniably immaculate: with those fine details, perfectly drawn body proportions, colorful tones and touch ups, and expressive characters. I am in awe at how detailed they can be at making this and how it's palpable how every single panel was skillfully and meticulously drawn. Just how many days did it take to complete a single chapter of this masterpiece? I am in loss of sufficient words to justify this feeling I have towards this amazing work. How effortless it seems to make comedic scenes is beyond me. Every chapter is not a bore or a forced read at all. I have been captivated the instant I read the first chapter, and it went on and on, and I never did lower my expection towards the next. I was with the characters and in the moment with them. I felt happy, amused, sad, confused, disappointed, etc., proving how gravitated I was until the very end. I absolutely love how it ended despite how seemingly short or rushed it was. For me, it was a satisfying ending where Jerry and Ilya became each other's endgame. Although there have been underlying questions as to what happened to certain characters like Karyan, Siren, and Henry's whereabouts, I only deem it as a minor negative facet of this manhwa alongside the disturbing fact of how children are portrayed in inappropriate ways which until today gives an itchy feeling to me. Apparently, Jerry is waayy older than the rest of the characters in the story aside from a few ones. Him being concerned about the authenticity of the targets' feelings rather than of their age gap just bugs me. Moreover, as his character gets older, isn't he technically also get older? But then, I don't have any proof nor basis coz it's all in his mentality now. To make matters worst, the implied incest?? Was it necessary at some point? Ugh that just leaves a horrible taste in my mouth. Why must forbidden romance with his 3 brothers be included in the route choices? Ugh. Anyhow, I only paid those downsides little-to-no-mind since the manhwa is truly enjoyable. I think I got addicted considering I refused to do other things aside from finishing this lol. Soo in conclusion, this was an absolutely fun and enjoyable reading experience for me. I wish I could find such well-written and well-drawn stories like this one. I am surprised that I was content even if there would be no romance involved in it. I was even ready for it lol. So imagine how surprised I was when the love route started! Lmao I absolutely did NOT see it coming.
