Boku Dake Ga Inai Machi
Reading this manga was a wild and emotional ride. The premise is quite simple, man goes back in time to rescue his classmate and fix an injustice. BUT it is so well executed and meticulously thought out down to every little detail. During the second part of the story, this turns into a battle of wits. Two men fighting for their own cause, one to protect his loved ones and let justice prevail, whilst the other to justify his insane worldview and his sickening actions. Just genius! It has everything I personally look for in a story • mystery, interesting plot, lovable characters. At this point I must add that the mother is by far my favorite character. She is strong, independent, intuicive, thoughtful and caring. She deserves the world, really. A wholesome and heartwarming story! A true masterpiece!
Liar Game
One of my favorite manga of all time and definitely the best of the survival game gerne. The story is brilliant, the protagonist is a genius and the girl is so sweet. Truly a masterpiece!
Anti Alpha
Undoubtedly an entertaining story. I really appreciated the fact that we the readers were given adequate backstory of the protagonists in order to comprehend their personalities and the reason why they were behaving the way they were. Furthermore the main couple had quite the chemistry. The scenes could have been a little more put together in my opinion though. When it comes to second couple, the author followed the same formula as the first one, just a bit more rushed. I wouldn't say I didn't enjoy it, but I cannot say that I did either. In other words it wasn't necessary to be included. I would've much prefered it if the uncle was just a supportive side character, who struggled the same way as the main lead in secret. The biggest drawback in this was the alpha's uncle and the utterly disturbing sex scenes he was a part in. Too explicit and if we are being bland here it was just rape in the name of alpha dominance. It made me sick. All in all 4/5
I will die soon
I read this one in one night! The story is unique and fast paced without unnecessary details and boring scenes. The characters feel like real people with their own motives and emotions. In contrast to the majority of the comments I found the mc likeable and quite smart in various occasions. Highly recommend!!
Shotgun Boy
OMG THE LAST CHAPTER!!! i need to know if there is going to be a sequel to Sweet Home . There is so much more to this story !! Anyway, I liked Shotgun Boy more than sweet home. I have no idea why. Maybe because it explained more as to why the monsters came to be. Nonetheless both Shotgun Boy and Sweet Home are definitely worth the hype! I just wish to see the characters from both stories fight together the monsters. Is that too much to ask ?
Sweet Home
This is one of the few mangas that actually gets more interesting during the second half of the story. Don’t get me wrong it’s pretty good from the very beginning, it just gets better later on. I really loved Bastard and Pigpen, so I had pretty high expectations for Sweet Home and I wasn’t disappointed! I would love to see a sequel to Sweet Home, as there are a lot of things open for interpretation. It would be great if we got to explore the premise of the evolving humans and furthermore the universe of the story after the first few weeks of the monster apocalypse.
Life Game
In my opinion life game isn't good but it's not bad either. The games and traps were kind of boring. In this genre smart concepts is the only way to make a successful story (e.g. Liar Game, Kaiji). In this, the characters were put in random life-threatening situations without any reason or explanation and there wasn't any kind of strategy that could save them. Their survival was based on pure luck. The only positive aspect of the story was the characters. I really liked the mc and his chemistry with the tall kind dude. Most of the characters were working together to survive and none of them died because of a stupid choise they made, which was pretty refreshing. Also the art was to my liking. Nothing extraordinary but decent nonetheless!
Jinrou Game - Beast Side
Waaaaay better than the first one. The main character's development was quite unexpected. In the first manga of the series she seemed to be kind of a weakling but in this one she turned into an antihero. Very interesting twist there!
