The art style is so freaking god-tier, it has to be one of my top favourites ever—from the incredible lightning, the details and the character designs are all drawn majestically. The story though is okay, it’s entertaining but halfway through my reading it feels like a drag. In my opinion there are too many unnecessary chapters and fillers, kinda like watching a loooong historical cdrama with too many arc that could have been taken out and still wont affect the main plot. I have a mixed reaction towards the MC—hes got some protagonist halo and hes like the jack of all trade I find it quite ridiculous. Zhang Li is smart, cunning, bold, creative, a badass and he knows what he wants and I like these about him. However he could be really nosy most of the time and acts like a tsundere (not a fan of this trope tbh). Also I know hes a medical professional but is he a surgeon, an ophthalmologist, a mental health professional, a pharmacist like wut in the Anubis name??? Hes like a marty sue Im crying There are also scenes that I find unbelievable like hes a slave in this old myth civilisation but acts like hes not one and even defy Mehemis, a literal king, a couple of times. I get that there is blossoming feelings involved and Mehemis is not really a tyrant per se but c’mon. Im just thinking that he finds Zhang Li interesting because hes smart and a pretttyyy blondie. Also the modern looking gloves, the contact lenses I just cant. It’s like the creator wanted to make a story about Egyptian Mythology but their creative state is still stuck in modern era I adore Mehemis a lot and hes got to have the most beautiful design. Hes so majestic Im drooling over a 2D character. Hes cute too but also tough and hinted to be a possessive lover too so yeah your majesty just one chance Im not sure if this is adapted from a novel but it seems Zhang Li will not be returning in the modern world and theres also a new character aaahhh it’s Anubis who is hinted to prevent the fall of Mehemis. I hope theres more extra or side stories because it still feels incomplete

3.8 stars This is so cute and adorable. I freaking love their dynamic and even though the slow burn is testing my patience, it’s so worth it because theyre sooo cute as a couple and yea very hornet and Im not complaining. I enjoy the smexy moments and how I wish there are uncensored version bc they look really spicy. Also the artstyle is chef’s kiss omg

I thought this is going to be a simple fluffy story but the ML turns out to be a possessive one. Im not complaining though since I love reading possessive/obsessed tops with a little dark personality to them. I enjoy reading this one maybe because I love childhood best friends to lovers trope. Also the smut scenes in the extras are delicious

3.8 stars “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” spoilers I am so glad that jaewoo and hyeonjin finally get the happy ending they deserve. They went through a lot and sacrificed so many things for each other. My heart melts when they kissed at the end. I like both the MC and the ML. Jaewoo, who transmigrated as the original lousy side top, is really cute, kind-hearted and it’s enjoyable to see him cook it makes me crave korean food. I love the details and the art style of the food too. Hyeonjin, the original MC, is someone I rooted for from the beginning. I love how despite turning into an ML, he still have the traits of a main character esp the most common trope in kbls ‘living a pathetic life and paying off debt’. It’s quite refreshing to see an ML who is not filthy rich, struggling in life, soft and emotional and being taken cared of by the MC. I feel bad for Mujin thou, the original ML and the crazy top. I feel like he should have ended up with someone too. He deserves it after he decided to let jaewoo go to be with the love of his life. Though there are some moments that make me ask a lot of questions and some characters are not fleshed out properly like Mujin. Im not quite sure why he became obsessed with MC, maybe it’s the food i dont know. At least there was a blossoming romance between the main pairing. But really, jaewoo is so ship-able with all the prominent men in this story. Also fvk jaewoo’s best friend hes literally obsessed with him. Glad his sister gave in and let jaewoo returned to the novel. She deserves a cookie

This is such a wonderful read. It has a mixture of fluff and a little bit of angst. I also like how realistic it deals with homophobia and the portrayal of emotions by the main charas. It makes you realise how homophobic people are more disgusting than the queer people they oppress and bully, they really dont deserve anything in life. Anyway I really like Namu, the second lead syndrome is so strong here and when he bumped into that tall, mister hot dude and suddenly a countdown appears in the sky I almost scream. I need a side story of them

This is one of the most beautiful and heartwarming stories with a really good amount of angst Ive ever read. I feel like theres no word to describe how beautifully-written this manga is. I got teary-eyed reading this. Both the main characters, devastating beautiful and complex and seem broken beyond repair, found salvation in each other. Their love is what saves them and holds them together. I love the art style, it’s so gorgeous it makes me weep. So many highly quotable words I wanna savor each of them as if they are fine meals being served in a high-quality fine dining course. Most importantly, I wanna cheer in happiness because they finally reunited and it is a happy ending.

When you have waited for years for this to be updated and then surprised mf the author suddenly drops the ending chapter and it is rush and not satisfying at all. However, the frustrating part is you feel quite guilty for complaining due to author’s poor health. I hope author-nim gets better. Though this is not totally bad since they get to be together.
