I liked comparing this to Red River where the protagonist both time travel from modern day times to ancient civilizations like Egypt and Turkey. In Red River the love interest actually believes the protagonist when she say she from the future, is more tomboyish, and interested in sports eventually marrying a prince turned emperor of Turkey while this protagonist has to cope/deal with there being no intimate partner violence laws, disrespect, and pretty being gas-lighted when it comes to being from the future and seeing glimpses of her time-line. The Pharaoh's aggressive tendencies are lessened overtime (one can even see a softer side), but the author also addresses how the pharaoh's word was law as he was viewed as a god and their was no respect for space when a woman wanted some time with her thoughts. I liked in both that they easily win the favor of the people with their more modern views of royalty really being in place to help the commoners.

Sabaku No Harem

Complete | yumeki mitsuru | 2014 released

The dynamic between Mishe and the third prince, Prince Kallum, is as funny as it is touching as one can see their relationship grow from where it started a woman with a heart of gold who was thought of as nothing more than a slave and a man who sees value in many things or people that catch his attention and truly wants a peaceful reign as king. What I love is the third prince doesn't barter with his wives and treats them all fairly, plus he's not just known for his looks he actually takes action be it thinking of how to out maneuver his rivals and delimmas or physically facing down an opponent. I like that Mishe had the makings of a queen right from the beginning and Prince Kallum sees all his wives as his pride and not mere tools...he also really cares about the people who serve him which makes one think he'd make a great king. I like Prince Johan even though he can be quite wicked with the face of an angel.

The Justice of Villainous Woman

Complete | Sola,Min , redice | 2000 released

I think it's interesting how before the female protagonist died she stood up to bullies and tried her best to live a life where she could be herself and be happy even if that wasn't what her family was about...I'm mean they were super sexist...but she didn't become bitter or mean to others...I definitely think her "ex-boyfriend" and "friend" needed slapping and some sort of reasoning for backstabbing someone that was kind and loyal. I do like her internal struggle in her new life to be cunning and devious over being nice to everyone since in a way even though her body's former owner was bratty she did realize that like her friend that betrayed her in her previous life the crown prince's fiancé is two-faced and devious. The female protagonist is quite clever and I think the crown prince is clever and observant as well, plus the system in this world has more to do with actual skill over birth order which is nice! The fifth prince seems really warm and fun to hang out with. It's also funny when the female protagonist is trying to expose spies and she channels the spirit of evil step mothers and sisters (lol). Also, her new parents are so kind! I like the breakdown of the nobility/royal structure from baron to emperor as well as the difference between a maid and a lady-in-waiting I got some good education on that front, and the importance of of trying at least to mend poor familiar bonds--it's a sad thing to see a big brother that doesn't adore his lil sister but given his sister's original temperment it makes some sense.

The Princess's Time Travel Webtoon

Ongoing | Right to left comic studio | 2019 released

I really really enjoy the wit and personalities in this plot plus it helps that there is no damsel in distress b.s.! It's cool how the female protagonist entered the past while the former owner of her body had just attempted to kill her husband for a pitiful love of the crown and oldest prince as well as the development of love and admiration for the female protagonist and the third prince is fun as after a year of marriage they go back to the dating stages! A running theme is also the dedication of the closest servants it's truly beautiful as well as the need to seek justice for its own sake and not for personal gain...also the sad yet cool thing is that the female protagonist is praised for her intellect surpassing women her own age which is awesome but it's because she was allowed such education from modern times while women in the past weren't.

Wow this actually starts off with the reincarnated female protagonist already somewhat accustomed to her new life with little confusion over her death and where she is...I like that we understand her modern to ancient time crossover but it doesn't flashback much. Also the female protagonist she's quite funny, clever, kind and competitive as she always seems to reference leveling up and draws from her knowledge of dramas. I laughed when she started picturing a closer relationship with the Empirer saying she deserved it...It didnt take her a long time to get use to being a queen but I like that she's nicer than the person who use to own the body she's in, plus I haven't ever seen a story like this where the female protagonist already has a son with the Empirer and there love had been tested by royal court politics and the former queen's desire to monopolize her love. I hadn't seen the reincarnated person's clothes cross from life to the next either that's interesting, also the queen's son is so cute!

I didn't know if I'd like this at first but I like that I gave it a shot...usually I like when the female protagonist starts from the bottom and works her way up into noble society, but to think that someone would be so disrespected as a duchess. The parallels between the female protagonist past self and the soul that use to inhabit the body she's in are also noteworthy since they both were used and taken for granted by those around them with no complaint on their part, which you can register the self-hatred in both their lives. When the female protagonist took strides to stand up for herself it was truly beautiful and man what happened to the Duke is the very definition of child abuse...I mean wow how can someone go to such legnths to crush a person's soul. It's bittersweet that no one took the time to know the other duchess, but the praise and friendships theat the new duchess has earned makes me happy for her and learned so much about tea!

Beatrice

Ongoing | ma cherie,cierra | 2019 released

My oh my Alexander looks like a Greek god! But I really think something is wrong with many of the people's brains in this story which is both entertaining and aggravating at the same time. I mean I love that Clare has the internal qualities of what makes a real princess: kind, brave, humble, plus she's a true survivor. She studied hard in her past life and became a veterinarian with and extensive knowledge of herb then when she was reborn she was a slave who is also studious and eager to help others but also biologically royalty. She has skills in treating the sick and she's not full of herself. It's depressing that princesses or beautiful women are seen as those with long hair and frilly dresses who don't know how to work. I mean a slave can't do this, her offspring can't be seen as royals because she's not blonde and blue eyed (genetics doesn't work like that--probably saved her though), she's a boy or a teenager (I get it she's lively and fun to watch)...these things irked me and man are slaves not human they can't learn to read and write what if a slave teaches herself how to...is it that unbelievable! I'm thinking that Alexandro's dad also doesn't understand sexuality...if he's gay then it wouldn't have mattered how he was raised. I'm tired of of his dad's meddling as well so he can think his son is gay if he wants, and he and his wife made it so that their son had a sense of justice where he despises political corruption but also noble women who seem to hide their true intentions. I like that howl means a lot to him but you think he'd want to figure out what happened (black stallion is definitely his spirit animal). I know it will take all the slow people awhile to understand but Clare was different while her everyone was being killed in the palace where no one cared about her she bravely came out of hiding to stand up for her servants, I know a quick head chopping was suppose to be a merciful death...but if anyone had bothered to look into her past they would have seen her abilities and wouldn't want to kill her. Anyhow, everyone wake up and smell the aromatherapy bath sometime before we're all old...she should be treasured, especially after to death threats, and I want to see real time lovey dovey scenes between Clare and Alexander. I rant and rave because I hate/love the story and I grow impatient. Also I must add that Alejandro is sexy and doesn't know it or care, because how can he not know the effect his beauty has on others...I mean these body shots gave me heart attacks.
