Red River
I liked how not only was it tied to adventure but the believable growth of a time-traveling female protagonist in ancient civilizations.
Hapi Mari
I like how believable it is that they actually get to learn about each other and love each other after they're already married.
Ouke no Monshou
I liked comparing this to Red River where the protagonist both time travel from modern day times to ancient civilizations like Egypt and Turkey. In Red River the love interest actually believes the protagonist when she say she from the future, is more tomboyish, and interested in sports eventually marrying a prince turned emperor of Turkey while this protagonist has to cope/deal with there being no intimate partner violence laws, disrespect, and pretty being gas-lighted when it comes to being from the future and seeing glimpses of her time-line. The Pharaoh's aggressive tendencies are lessened overtime (one can even see a softer side), but the author also addresses how the pharaoh's word was law as he was viewed as a god and their was no respect for space when a woman wanted some time with her thoughts. I liked in both that they easily win the favor of the people with their more modern views of royalty really being in place to help the commoners.
This Is An Obvious Fraudulent Marriage Webtoon
The fun part about this is that I didn't know exactly how they recognize they're mutual feelings for each other...I loved how Del wanted to start calling her by a nickname so he just did so casually and she took it as a competition by giving him one back! I get that the earth and water gods wanted to suppress fire and wind gods but it was very reckless creating a being with no direction then at some point he winds up in the human world full of sounds and smells that he's unaccustomed to...I'm glad that he got a bit of warmth and kindness in his life it was wonderful seeing the changes in Del and LynLyn and how everything slowly started to tie together.
The Mischievous Incubus
Pretty steamy. It seems like if this is angels vs. demons then the angels have a strange sense of amusement by trapping an incubus in a school showing him what it's like to not be able to be with anyone else...some form of illusion of love spell but it does seem like there is some regret for nonoka. I was thinking if the cat demon could get past his petty jealousy then he could have worked with nonoka, asuma, and shoot maybe her friends to find a way to talk undercover and break free. I do think that teaching an incubus what it's like to not so easily move on from person to person wasn't necessarily a bad thing but why the unfair disadvantage?
Gentleman or Beast?
Chunqing Yatou Huolala
When I first read this I was exited about the mafia aspect because mostly when I've seen mafia/gang it describes the leader as ruthless but then there's no fight scenes or actual fear that the person is dangerous and you should flee for the hills. I for one like the mafia leader to have a moral code of no rape or undue abuse of women or children, if the woman can defend herself and has the intent to kill then defend yourself that's okay. I also like when it's increasingly difficult to gain trust or affection from the mafia leader due to rival gangs always gunning for your life, men/woman wanting to spend time with you to gain power, favors, or make you indebted to them. I'd have a thick wall of caution and I like that Mr. Yu has an inner circle of people he'd consider friends, I was surprised to see a woman among them because he seemed to have intense resentment toward women as he takes their first times and ditches them and oh boy even going so far as to tell the women that if they get pregnant to not expect any child-support from him or to even recognize the child as his own...I mean the abortion money was new to me definitely. He keeps himself detached even to the point where he could watch a person drown for awhile without flenching...I dared to wonder if he allowed himself to care/love a woman what would he be risking? The female protagonist I give serious props for being praised for her high intellect and not easily giving her first time away even when she truly loved her boyfriend...they made an agreement to have sex on her 18th birthday but I guess he couldn't wait patiently and gave in. I mean her boyfriend did recognize her abilities and seemed to cherish her to some extent since she was the only one he called "girlfriend." I also liked Mr.Yu's original disposition how he has a different manner of speaking and walk that he usually covers for, I think I'd wreck his mental/emotional defenses and learn how to swim with martial arts.
