Waiting for this to finish. REREAD Really, really, good plot. Alot of lore. & A lot of world building. Story uses interesting ideas such as goblins, ghosts & the power of our own memories. The romance is secondary, but still tied to the plot. Sometimes, the lore can be confusing with all the conceptual semantics. There's alot of threads from the lore pulling the plot, but it can be hard to follow ( at least in the first read). But nonetheless, I still follow the basic ideas. Character designs can look very similar & are modest. The colors tend to be in the gray tone. Characters don't show alot of outstanding emotion. These could all be ingredients for a boring experience, but it's not. Characters are drawn well & still look attractive. The Ghostly monsters have at eye-catching designs to balance out the normalcy of the main characters. And most of all the plot is just that good. I love the romance itself and how it's tied to the plot. The main characters San and Eunjae have a very sweet relationship in which they support each other. 1/29/22 I am currently waiting for season 3 and I can't wait to see the rest of the story unfold. 060623: I'm just waiting for this to finish so I can reread the whole thing again.

That was so fuckin beautiful!!!! There's 3 Edo BL stories that have been recently made around 2018: "Yuki & Matsu", "Momo & Manji", & "Bena". They do have commonalities in showing how cruel the world of the past was in the sexual abuse & torment of minors especially, & in general how the vulnerable are the prey for the powerful. Judging from what I've learned about history, I'm sure there's accuracy to that. While all three titles are love stories taking place in the Edo period, all have very district styles, & are doing different things with their stories. However, one commonality I great appreciate, is that they all have the same idea of people going through the worst possible shit anyone can experience, enduring unspeakable abuse, but making it out on the other side & finding peace, happiness, & love. These stories embrace you with love in the end. They're all wonderful! Bena was beautiful!

LOVE LOVE️️️ Seme is a priest who lives a repressed life by his father & is secretly in love with his childhood friend. One day as a gift, he receives a sex toy which he uses to satisfy the urges from his unrequited love. Little does he know the toy is connected to his friend/ love. This was well done! It explored the concept as well as it could & made this wacky story believe through the character's reactions-- especially in uke's reaction. I appreciate how they showed the friend's pov, & his understandably freaked out he was. Made it believable & interesting.
