Slave boy gets bought by kind giant who lives up on mountain by himself. This is super sugary sweet & romantically indulgent but I am not complaining! I'm a sucker for romance! One complaint I do have is that I hope the mc starts actually DOING stuff. Like anything. I sympathize with the harsh life he has lived. I understand he is at a point where he feels beaten down. I empathize with the sadness & tiredness. But after a while there comes a point where I feel bad for the kind love interest because the mc is very jaded & mostly reacts to things, but doesn't GIVE or DO much back. It (mc) can become boring after a while. I hope we see more action & initiation. Other than that, amazing story with a realistic approach to history. Edit: nevermind. It's perfect. I gotta be more understanding. The mc was depressed. That's clear to me now. Update: 1/9/22 Waiting for season 3 !!! This is so interesting, I love this!! Season 3 started. Several chapters in. Look, in addition to Bongchun being my husband, I love the brother too, ok?! I've accepted I'm trash. 6/8/22: End of Season 3. Bad things are happening! Finally ended March 2023. MC works in a flower shop. He wants revenge for the murder of his dead lover on the noble he suspects of doing it. He forms an uneasy relationship with the FRIEND of the murderer, who will help him with revenge if the MC fulfills a bet. I really like the premise, I find it very interesting. I love the historical time period chosen, I like the flower shop & greenhouse idea, I love the whole set piece. The drawings have a common, style to this genre, and are almost humble which is attractive. Characters are simply designed, but there is care put into the actual drawings. This is a style whereb certain parts use slapdash lines, while other areas have more live detail, such as the hair or eyes. You can see the strokes in the coloring as well. It gives a painterly look to simplified anime characters. I really like it! The storytelling is quite plain. Alot of shots/panels are too close up & cropped so you don't get to see much of anything. Which is a shame considering the time period & all the settings which come. I'd love for the camera to pull back so we can look at the settings. I like how this is going for more humble costumes for the main characters, but theb background extras are being utilized to sell the period. At this point, the time period isn't really being utilized much in the writing, or the visual storytelling (settings), I'd say it gives more atmosphere or visual tone. I like how the rich guy is all creepy. I appreciate his unnerving smile & his cold indifference to anything that doesn't interest him. This comes even through the confusing translation. All this stuff I'm listing interests me! But I cannot understand the translation I have no idea why the creepy guy wants to build a greenhouse, & I have no idea how starting a sexual relationship with the MC plays into the bet. But I'd like to find out Waiting for updates....

2017. Twisted mindfuck! A couple doesn't know where they begin & where they end when using a memory altering system called Moritat. What follows is a struggle of power between the two as the mc tries to solve the mystery of his circumstances.

I love this. It's beautiful. Older painter is given the option to take in young man as his apprentice or allow him to prostitute himself as a kagema.

Takes place in Korea. Historical fantasy about tough girl. It's pretty sought with me. I really like the adventure & fantasy aspects to this. It does have 90s tropes I'm not fond of like, Casanova male lead, the main boy & girl don't get along but that means they like each other. Pretty alright!

2021. IM DONE! THIS WAS CRAZY!! GARNET, STOP. DON'T KEEP READING THIS! Edit: No I'm not done. I'm on board for this crazy ride. One thing I liked was that I felt this was a truly scary depiction of an abuser which leans more on the realistic side for this genre. It really has left me with a lasting impression. One thing I didn't like, was how the sex scenes were sexualized since most of it felt forced. Though I know that is part of what we came for. I was uncomfortably invested! So much tension! I want to know what happens.. Waiting for updates.....

Marking for consistency to show I've previously interacted with this manhwa (quite a few times in fact). I love the character designs, especially the dark chocolate melanin man & his tiger-like design. The concept is interesting! (& It must be, because it's literally "Bongchun Bride" x "Painter of the Night"), but then I remember that I don't like Brothers Without A Tomorrow's writing,.. They choose fun concepts tho! & I can't help myself from clicking. I don't like the beginning with all the hedonistic sex tied into "the powerful Lord" power dynamics. I don't have the patience to wade through that bullshit Maybe someday.

This actually seemed quite nice, but it was set up like an epic romance. Not in the mood. 8/19/22.
