I hate to say this, but as of Chp. 65, this has been disappointing for a while Mainly because of all the abuse & misery, & then appallingly, SMUT at the expense of the misery!! Our MC Sooyoung loses any trace of personality, because instead, we're too busy watching him suffer & become a victim. The scenes of him & the disturbing, forceful sex, or rape, was.... DISTURBING! Why did you think this was a good idea author?? If u want the dynamics of meek, masochistic, black haired boy & powerful brown haired Dom, read "Black Mirror"!! Characters actually have all rounded characters, & as messed up as that one is, everyone is always DTF. Consent If you want the hopeless normies gets mixed up with sexy gangster dynamic, read "Shutline"! Super rough & spicy, but there is always consent, everyone DTF. 060623: I reread this again! Left on ch. 95. I really appreciate that Sooyoung admitted that he likes it rough sex with Taesung & he enjoys it when he forces him. Just the fact that was acknowledged makes it handled much better than Painter of the Night.

2021. Office worker finds out his boss is part cat! Really funny and cute tone! It does rely on some cliches in plot, but it doesn't damper the fun or light hearted tone. Characters are honest, and all act with some degree of self awareness and common sense. No frustrating bullshit.

UUHHHHHH??? A lot of crazy of crazy events happening with rushed pacing, no set up or hints, or much explanation. Like I would have liked to know what Jimmy & Henry's new jobs were, how does this pill work, how does Henry even have the knowledge to create a fuckin pill?, & More about their new life. Some writing was just plain bad. Like the solution to the beast people discrimination was to have them conform! Visually, it gets pretty bad at the end. Alot of easy to draw close shots were used, we hardly ever got the camera pulled back to see the distance. Also, the shots in general we're really bad in terms of visual storytelling through the end. I like that this tried to include different tones. It seemed to want to have slice of life, BL, & action. That's an interesting idea.

This does feel slow paced. The events chosen to show to audience is not enough information. I want more info to imagine for the story. I also feel the dialogue is too wordy, too much & too repetive/ irrelevant. I feel it significantly slows the packing to a molasses state. Again with the pacing, maybe the chapters are too short? Or they focus too much on little things rather than laying out big information for us. Maybe that's why it feels so slow (I think it is after thinking). I honestly like this. There are some dumb logic problems, like why the hell did the national library in such a shit state? Shouldn't the government be managing it, especially if it's a national building representing pride of a nation? Also, the way male lead & female lead, the way they act is unnatural in certain cases, like normal people don't act like that.. Especially when the ML gets in the FL's personal space to make fun of her, like, you creep! Some of the writing is cliche. Like they're setting it up so that the female lead coincidentally, miraculously met the male lead when they were younger& he saved her. That's another thing; the female lead is put in sucky situations cuz she's female, like the way Justin teases her by touching, her about to be physically injured but then saved by man. That's already in every story. For something that is fantasy where anything is possible, I wish I wasn't reminded of the same reoccurring limitations as a girl. I know why they do it, they want to make the guy look good as a partner. But it's at the expense of pointing out the girl is weak. I'm just tired of that situation is all. Cuz they're picking & choosing the shitty parts of real life. Cuz in real life, it is true we are not physically strong, but a man isn't always there to save us either, we have to help ourselves with our limited strength. I want to see stories about that in Shoujo that prioritizes the female than the romance all the time. Anyways, I like ideas in here. There's witches, libraries, kings, knights, apple pies, all good ingredients. Execution just needs work: it's too slow paced, character writing needs to be better, need to work out internal logic, needs to be better shots chosen. I do like it though!

Good costumes & detailing. Love page layouts & set up of overlapping drawings with panels. Action at it's best looks stylish & dynamic. There is a flowy uncontained style. Love the amount of space dedicated to pauses or quiet moments. The environments are moody & informational. Certain shots chosen are really unclear in showing action. Sometimes the drawings themselves can be awkward in showing action. Background characters have no faces. It's cheesy in that only the beautiful cool people are the main characters. There is a bit of same face syndrome.
