Dahlia no Obi
1984. Story was a bit confusing at first. Some things are unclear or don't make sense, but once understood, a moving reflection of the anxieties of a time period. Art was detailed with simple line work, making look both lovely & innocent.
Honoka ni Purple
1985. Very shoujo-esque. Not much else which differed from the standard. Girl is boring. Still nicely executed & romantic/ idealized
Yume No Tsuzuki
1988. A spoiled rich girl kidnaps a rockstar & holds him captive on an isolated planet in this futuristic sci fi setting. It was dumb but interesting concept. I like the creepy undertone coming from this innocent girl who is so unaware of her own actions. But the character writing for the girl & the butler felt unsatisfying. His ending with her seems to excuse her stupid behavior. All in all, cool concept.
Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind
1983 - 1993. One of the best of all time.
Snow Maidens
That was awesome.. This scan group, fyesvintageshoujo, is doing god's work scanning this. I'm so glad to have been able to read this. Vintage shoujo can be a treasure. It makes me think of all the other undiscovered treasures waiting to be read, if not lost to time.
