Ok for those who are wondering Max/Samsami is a humanoid-dog, that is he was likely a regular dog and then became “human” at some point. In the story it’s explained that this could happen because of the dog’s wish (to become human or closer to their human, most likely). I’m thinking this is a Master of Master (another BL) situation where Max/Samsami changed suddenly though he was with his previous owner when he was much younger too.
