A man traumatized by war now works at a bar in post-war Japan, catering to those who won. Feeling lonely and pessimistic about life, he meets an American soldier who says he has fallen in love with him (or some such). Thinking that there's not much left to live for, he agrees to date the man to switch up his monotonous meaningless life.
