Houtou Musuko to Koi no Ana
Sousuke is too much of a player, so his mom sends him to the countryside to live with his cousin’s family for the rest of high school. He agrees, eager to reunite with his first love Minori-chan, but it turns out she is a he! Sousuke falls in love all over again, but despite his efforts to win Minori over, Minori’s past traumas are holding him back.
Hitori to Hitori no 3650nichi
In high school, Katsumi harshly rejected his best friend Maki’s confession. Now, ten years later they reunite and Maki finds that Katsumi’s regrets from that time have caused him to seek out violent sex as a way of punishing himself. Maki can’t help but intervene and tries to help Katsumi forgive himself. I love the aspect of the one who was rejected not having trauma, but gently seeking to heal his friend. Though it’s sad, it’s still a sweet and gentle love. Side story about a city boy who moves to the country and the neighbor boy who takes care of him finding love.
My Sweet Husky Papa
Hasuki and Inukai meet at a matchmaking party and instantly hit it off! So well, in fact, that they end up in bed together later that night. Inukai quickly realizes that Hasuki is the one, but trauma from Hasuki’s failed marriage and worry about Inukai’s daddy issues complicate things. A sweet love with good communication. Trigger warning: dubcon (drunk)
Bright Light Sprout
Haruto is a regular man who winds up with a schoolboy as his neighbor who he starts to cook for. But when the high schooler, Ren, tries to repay him with a sexual favor, he gets the sense that something is very wrong in Ren’s life. The story deals with very serious themes that could make some uncomfortable and has a somewhat sudden ending. Trigger warnings: statutory rape, child abuse, child grooming, coercion
Tonari no Onee-San to Himitsu no
Miku has a fear of men because of her stalker, but her feminine new neighbor (male) might be just what she needs to turn things around. A smutty romance with a non typical male lead that makes it very interesting and beautiful artwork. Trigger warnings: stalking, noncon, kidnapping(?)
Yatamomo
Momo sells himself to get by until he meets Yata, a man who can’t help but take care of cute things. They build a relationship but Momo has a lot of trauma that he needs to unwillingly work through. They’re a very cute and believable couple and the story works through real issues in a meaningful way, so it’s worth a read. Trigger warnings: noncon, rape, gangrape, statutory rape, child prostitution
Suki Na Hito Hodo
Mean boss confesses so his subordinate decides to go go for it - but the relationship seems to stay the same. They do eventually have some cute moments, but the whole relationship is pretty unhealthy and rapey for my tastes. Trigger warnings: rape, coercion.
Kimi no yoru ni fureru
Chinatsu is an assassin who can't kill. Kasumi is a blind boy who partially witnessed his first failed assassination five years ago. After meeting again as adults, Chinatsu feels drawn to this kind and pure boy and begins to pull him out of his lonely world while also dreaming of following his example and moving towards the light. Heavy on the drama, but not a bad story. The uke is very cute and the art is lovely. Trigger warnings: blood, violence, talk of murder
