Ritsu is a high schooler who just wants to revive his family's kendo dojo until one day he's suddenly confronted by the oni Kojirou who demands his family heirloom, the oni's mallet, in order to end a succession war among the oni. Ritsu is gradually won over and agrees to give it to Kojirou if he'll first use it to make Ritsu taller, but in attempting to do so, the mallet fuses with his body and Ritsu also learns the onis plan to invade and destroy humanity. Ritsu is betrayed, but Kojirou is delighted that he has an excuse to spend more time in the human world. And Ritsu finds he can't hold it against Kojirou for long when he sees how much Kojirou truly loves gyaru fashion, harajuku, and the whole of humanity. But just when things seem to be going well between them, Kojirou's brother arrives and announces it's time to go back. A fun read with a very unique seme and overall good characters. My only complaint was that to make it a happy ending, the author undermined the fundamental conceit of the underlying conflict which was a little anticlimactic and unsatisfying. Still cute. Trigger warning: dubcon.
