Mimasaka-kun to Mayoeru Kobuta
Souta is a very sweet but chubby boy who often gets picked on, until one day a rough looking boy named Mimasaka gets his wallet back for him. Trying to repay him, Souta encourages Mimasaka to work together with him at a cafe, but as they get closer Souta starts to feel attracted to Mimasaka, encouraging him to face the future head on and lose weight so he can confess to Mimasaka. Souta is really cute but I've yet to see a realistic weight loss transformation in a manga. ️Trigger warnings: fat-shaming, bullying.
Hatsukoi Note
Fujita Shouya is just a teenager who doesn't understand love, so while looking it up, he stumbles upon a gay blog from a student at his school. He quickly realizes that the student is his classmate Sanjou Tsubame, and he wants to approach Tsubame but hesitates because they had a bad first encounter. Still, when he realizes Tsubame seems to be looking at Sanjou's friend Ryuu, Sanjou can't help but get involved and invite Tsubame to hang out. But the more the three of them hang out, the harder it gets for Sanjou to read Tsubame's blog as he realizes his own feelings. Interesting and well-developed characters. Trigger warnings: train groper, mention of assault of a minor.
Yuutousei wa Unmei no Akai Ito ni Sakaraitai
Honor student sees his red thread is tied to a delinquent.
Puchi Puri
After being rejected, high school student Yuuji is crying in the park when elementary school student is touched and declares he'll take care of him so he'll never cry again and steals Yuuji's first kiss. Despite his youth, Atsushi is serious about Yuuji and wins him over, so Yuuji waits for his little prince to grow up. Also contains the oneshot of high school student Kiyoharu and his older lover Yuki who feels insecure about their relationship and worries a high school girl will steal his love away.
Kirei ni Shiteyo
Dai decides to rebrand himself as a punk in high school so he won't have to deal with other people. He ends up sharing lunchtime at a tree with the school janitor, who also avoids people and they don't talk. After the janitor saves him from a rape attempt, Dai falls in love. Also janitor is an ex-convict and 40, but don't worry, it's fine. Seriously, just don't think about it. Trigger warnings: attempted rape, statutory rape, false accusation.
Rojiura Pussycat
Innocent and airheaded student Nazuku follows a cat one day and runs into Ayafumi, a playboy who has been slipped an aphrodisiac and insists Nazuku "help" him, which results in him basically raping Nazuku. But Ayafumi enjoys the encounter so much he insists the kid come back without even realizing that he's basically threatening him into it. But Nazuku falls in love and it ends up all right. Later, they get to try to explain the situation to his protective older sister. Not the best setup, but their relationship ends up surprisingly interesting and nuanced by the end. Trigger warning: rape.
In the Belly of the Ogre
Ritsu is a high schooler who just wants to revive his family's kendo dojo until one day he's suddenly confronted by the oni Kojirou who demands his family heirloom, the oni's mallet, in order to end a succession war among the oni. Ritsu is gradually won over and agrees to give it to Kojirou if he'll first use it to make Ritsu taller, but in attempting to do so, the mallet fuses with his body and Ritsu also learns the onis plan to invade and destroy humanity. Ritsu is betrayed, but Kojirou is delighted that he has an excuse to spend more time in the human world. And Ritsu finds he can't hold it against Kojirou for long when he sees how much Kojirou truly loves gyaru fashion, harajuku, and the whole of humanity. But just when things seem to be going well between them, Kojirou's brother arrives and announces it's time to go back. A fun read with a very unique seme and overall good characters. My only complaint was that to make it a happy ending, the author undermined the fundamental conceit of the underlying conflict which was a little anticlimactic and unsatisfying. Still cute. Trigger warning: dubcon.
Makitakun No Koiji wo Jamasuru To Shinu
Kaoru fell in love with Shun at first sight(fight) and confessed! So now they’re dating. A lot of silly boys and smutty sex. No trigger warnings.
Shiro to Tsubaki
Shiro is an exorcist and Tsubaki is a half-incubus, but they’re in love! But with Shiro’s family, Tsubaki’s incubus guardian, and even Shiro’s guilt all threatening to pull them apart, will their pure love for each other be enough? I really like the character of the incubus uncle, his struggles and emotions felt real to me.
