it is not a romantic love story, and anyone portraying it as such has missed the point entirely, it is a psychological thriller, with deeply disturbed characters and deeply disturbed plots. i have actually felt genuine fear while reading it, great experience
amazing if you like that type of stuf, highly recommend it if you're into characters with complex trauma and unreliable narrators

rape is not only one of the themes but a recurrent one and so is incest, so if you cannot stomach that, i do not recommend you read, both things come up directly or indirectly more than once
