Status/power gap, possessive top, calculating powerful (and surprisingly empathetic) top X rational experiment bottom. World of superpowers, top is extremely powerful, bottom is believed to be powerless but can secretly read memories.
So much apparent detail is skipped over that it feels like this is a chapter-limited manhua version of a novel, but can't find any evidence that there is one.
Last 5 chapters are way too rapid, and the need for resolution for the plot points it introduced resulted in quick, cheesy fixes. Translation is okay for the official, but the jumbled last few chapters make the cheesy dialogue even more cringey with the awkward translation. I loved the plot overall, but the presentation at the end is disappointing. Things that were definitely big points, that could have easily lasted a couple chapters without dragging it out, were shown in 1-2 panels with a few summary sentences.
