Status/power gap, possessive top, calculating powerful (and surprisingly empathetic) top X rational experiment bottom. World of superpowers, top is extremely powerful, bottom is believed to be powerless but can secretly read memories. So much apparent detail is skipped over that it feels like this is a chapter-limited manhua version of a novel, but can't find any evidence that there is one. Last 5 chapters are way too rapid, and the need for resolution for the plot points it introduced resulted in quick, cheesy fixes. Translation is okay for the official, but the jumbled last few chapters make the cheesy dialogue even more cringey with the awkward translation. I loved the plot overall, but the presentation at the end is disappointing. Things that were definitely big points, that could have easily lasted a couple chapters without dragging it out, were shown in 1-2 panels with a few summary sentences. According to the 19.5 note, this is not a love story and has dub-con. May not read. Summary from Tappytoon: "13 years ago, Baek Yugeon and his brother were the sole survivors of a mysterious anomaly attack, leaving them “awakened.” While his brother obtained supernatural powers, Yugeon became a “guide,” a being who is able to keep such powers under control through physical touch. When the same anomaly appears again, Yugeon’s brother is left in critical condition with the only one who can save him being Woo Shinje, an S-class awakened and the commander of the hunting order, Erewhon. Shonen ai, only the side stories are yaoi. I can't tell if it's the upload that's disjointed or the story itself, but since the chapters are numbered on the images I think it may just be the story. There's often jarring cuts to new scenes that makes it feel like we missed a whole chapter in between, sudden outbursts that don't make sense, and inconsistent personality from the top. Even though I'm so confused reading it, I'm still enjoying it somehow. Main story ends at chapter 60. The separate post for the side stories has higher quality uploads, so read it there. Dominant top, status gap(?) (different societies but he's a demon king, so-). Such a deep, loving affection that every scene they're together is heartwarming, no matter the scenario, even after they started off dark. That being said, there's incredible amounts of character heart break, bitter sweet moments, and heart wrenching scenes. I don't really like any of the side couples though, the chemistry seems forced and the best friend feels like he's settling (but for some reason I've become fond of the most toxic couple of the bunch, although they become less toxic with time). I hate the "resolution" between him and his best friend of never seeing each other again, despite all their years together. It physically hurts me. They don't even seem to miss each other even though they were so close?? Content warning for lots of non-con and dub-con. Read some time in early summer 2022 but dropped around chapter 10. Let's see how round 2 goes.
