This was crazy wild and crazy wonderful. The art and writing had me emotional the whole ride. People make mistakes in times where they are manipulated after years of grooming and conditioning. The trauma that Mitsuru had to endure was realistic and hits home for a lot of gay couples. Accurate representation is super important, especially for long term domestic abuse victims that are emotionally dragged and verbally degraded. It’s not easy to write and it isn’t easy to read, but it’s incredibly important. You don’t have to forgive your abuser. The people that truly love you won’t stop loving you. Abusers can feel regret, they are still human and in this case he really did love Mitsuru. Properly getting to know someone is important. Abuse of any kind is a heavy burden to carry.

Complete ch 5 Couple 1: A writer who lives with a friend, said friend does a lot to make sure that the writer doesn’t die from writing. He’s ultimately ignored most of the time. Distance helps them both realize their needs. Couple 2: Gloomy and jealous boyfriend with cheery and excited boyfriend. A certain band gets in the way. Couple 3: Established office couple. A very popular member of the team wants his boyfriend bad but is scared his uncontrollable levels of excitement will be disillusioning to his boyfriend. Complete ch 6.5 The abused are more likely to become offenders themselves. It’s a fact. This story takes heavy, dirty topics and makes a beautiful story about victims suffering. Seeing this work completed makes me happy and content.

Harada never fails to impress me. Never. Not ever. My favorite dark themes all written so wonderfully with a wide variety of characters. Goodness. When this was first being translated I was already hooked, watching how everything progressed makes waiting so worth it. Fuku-kun will get what he wants, it’s not in his personality to stop. I can’t say enough how much I adore Harada’s works. Must express that properly!

Complete ch 6 People get so worked up over this shit. It’s not like the first two are even in a loving relationship. Things were pretty dubious between them until glasses boy caught them. Sexual conditioning is valid for plots, just like dubious consent. Doesn’t mean they are dating for fucks sake. I’m sick and tired of people not understanding how writing “ill natured” content is good. It’s not always romanticizing bad things. Honestly I have more of a problem with the second couple but they are also not super well done characters.
