Hana ni Arashi (Kovachi Luka)
Originally I found it to be a bit off putting when they constantly stated they were going out and about keeping it a secret in each chapter but that quickly changed to actually finding it to be quite an endearing part of this story. I love the subtle art style and the dynamics between each of the characters. You can truly see the connections in this manga without them even having to display physical contact with one another which makes those moments all the more enjoyable.
Hourou Musuko
It's very rare that the subject of being transgender or a cross dresser are shown in positive and non explicit light in Japanese stories in general much less manga since it also shows a physical representation of the authors story. However, this mangaka does so and with a dazzling yet subtle art style along the way. This will forever be one of the best manga I have ever read. It always wows and surprises me and I'd expect nothing less from Shimura Takako.
Nettaigyo wa Yuki ni Kogareru
A story about how lonely one can feel while still being surrounded by others. If it's not the person you want to be around you at all times, life can get quite lonely. This manga touches on that subject extremely well not showing it's characters to be whiny but rather showing them to be human.
She is Also Cute Today
This is a solid piece with really beautiful art that glows off of the page. I also really love how the characters interact and Cang is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters from Chinese Manhua!
Hanjuku Joshi
I can't believe I hadn't read this until now! It's so sweet, light yet realistic and good! And the artwork is too friggin cute!
Her ShimCheong
Awesome story, seriously beautiful art and a surprisingly well rounded ending. Great!!
Crescent Moon and Doughnuts
Edit with SPOILERS: Originally, I gave this 5 stars as I was thoroughly enjoying the journey. However, that ending was super rushed and killed my dreams. We don't even get to see the couple together save for their confession. Everything wraps up so hurriedly in the final chapter and really disappointed me. That said, the first and second acts are the best, as I feel the ending was just too quick.
Girl in the Birdcage
This was a trip. As an artist myself, it was really quite interesting to see I'm not the only person who's had a difficult experience in the classroom setting. Artists can be very vendictive toward each other, or caring and nurturing. It's a sad fact, but true. Still, this was able to shoe that and that love can coke from tikes when we think there's nothing redeemable left. And I liked it's length and artwork as well.
Motto Hanjuku Joshi
This is a sequel and I love it. The cutesy way the mangaka draws is great and I always look forward to reading more of their work.
