Mad Cinderella
this dragged on too long for my taste. It's cute, it really is, and it's from sensei who is great at making this dynamic of uke and seme who are crazy for each other without it coming off as too cringy and overbearing, however this was just not for me, when the author said that this was an idea that they had as a student, it totally made sense because everything was just so wishy washy and the issues pop in n outta nowhere, I mean that kidnapping plot was rolled 3 times, what even is that? characters are good enough but I just couldn't care much for them; Honto Yajuu is a bit wishy washy too but at least that one was episodic and I dunno just made more sense plotwise? the characters introduced were also given enough panels for the readers to be invested in them, same characters were also dynamic unlike here where they are just flat, the seme is a horny, obsessive type from the beginning, the uke is a goody two shoes til the end, the other characters, they're basically just mobs who were given features instead of just blobs (maybe it was the author's way of practicing their illustration, dunno?)
Tadaima, Okaeri
Instant top 5. Everything is just so healthy and smooth, but not idealistic, like the characters did have to develop in order to be a better version of themselves, they weren't perfect from the start, still it didn't focus on drama and angst, but rather on fluff and slice of life which is so, so goooood. It's not yet finished, thankfully, this is on the same par as Hontu Yajuu for me, a sweet, kinda episodic manga. It's also tagged as yaoi but there wasn't really a sex scene, only an implication (maybe with the 2nd couple in the future?), still that's probably for the best because it centers on babies and family life, so having it focus on wholesomeness to provocativeness would be a whiplash, this style suits it best. I hope the future release would get uploaded too soon.
