The Promise
Wow, just wow. Scifi, fantasy, action, romance that doesn't feel forced, power couples all in one. Plot is fantastic, art is fantastic, everything went so well together, the only fault that I can find is that it's too short, I feel like the author wanted to put more and they could've definitely expanded but then got tired and settled for shorter chapters which is why the last few ones felt rushed and everything was just resolved by the other side characters. I dunno why, but it's still good, didn't feel like too much of a deus ex machina, probs due to the background building in the earlier chaps so the plot progression and resolution still makes sense. All in all, this work is really an anti-thesis to those webcomics with very slow pacing, this one's very quick and efficient in its resolutions, it's tagged as Shounen Ai, but there's one graphic seggz scene between the main couple, only once though, just a heads up for those who has aversion to smut for some reason.

This can't be completed, there has to be more. They are sooo cute! The pacing and couple dynamic reminds me of Honto Yajuu with both the uke and seme are madly in love with each other, except the seme in this one is more normal and not lowkey an ikemen, the progression is also episodic and centers on the slice of life concept like HY. Also, I read some complain about the art style but I absolutely love it, yes it's simple but the expressions and gestures were so animated I'm practically watching the entire work move on its own, I'll take that anyday over pretty artstyle but everyone is so stiff and barely shows any expression. Anyway, I really enjoyed this, I hope the author continues this in the future.
