It's a good story and the art is beautiful, but it was painful to read. Uke is frequently and violently abused by his long-term boyfriend who he met in high school; he used to be sweet, but became abusive after they graduated. Uke reencounters his first love from middle school who is sweet, serious, and quiet. Abusive boyfriend eventually begs uke to leave him realizing that uke is in love with someone else, also fully aware and horrified that he keeps doing terrible things and is afraid of himself and what he might do next, making even the abuser pitiable.
