The Way the Mage Faces Death
The story is easily digestible, very easy to follow and the art is neat, not too busy but does what it needs to do. The dialogue isn't the best but it seems like a normal conversation among people of their age group. I like that there is a reason behind every action. The Dean is very suspicious tho I can understand his actions towards our MC. Him binding her so she doesn't go out of control, with the added info given by the MC that it is a forbidden act and is considered taboo to bind another person. A person can bind themselves or the crystals in their magic staff restricts them but not another person. That is reserved for monsters. The ML is the Duke, right? At least he isn't a douchebag, he is a gentleman in all ways. Like he treats her with the way a lady should be treated despite her constant harrassment. He is also true to his words, doesn't go back on them and is very diligent. I like him. He is starting to take notice of the MC but it's so natural, with her acting the way she does and attracting all sorts of attention towards herself, that is bound to happen. The old Melissa isn't too bad, just a spoiled tsundere brat. Her being a bird is so unexpectedly adorable? I love how it gets addressed what happened to the og soul in the body possessed by the MC. The former Magus, MC's master is such a hard person to pin down. He seems to be a good person but it is clear as day the reason that he helped the MC was not purely because of his good will but the fact that she is a prodigy who already had a mana core when others had to go through the trouble of building one for months and years.
The Prince of Myolyeong
I like this a lot more than I expected. The artstyle reminds me of "Your Throne", even the MC looks like Medea. Their demeanor is also similar tho I would argue that Medea is more heartless and manipulative than this MC. She seems kind and very genuine all around. Her not liking the First Prince makes sense somewhat but after getting his perspective, it feels a bit mean and rude. I feel for him, he is so adorable in his antics to be her friend and practising to greet her by drawing them interacting thereby manifesting it. His relationship with his nanny warms my heart. Oh! Him and his aide makes a cute dynamic too, I just know that his aide is so protective of him and devoted too. His love for MC is so pure and sweet, just pure goodwill from him unlike a certain blondie It feels a bit suffocating watching the interaction between the MC and her aide, with him harbouring such obvious feelings for her and her being blind to it but he seems to be certainly the one she cares about most. The tan prince and that tsundere prince's dynamic is a favourite of mine. The former constantly teasing him and egging him on and the latter responding like how he expects. It's all nice to see. The story setting is not that interesting to me tho I was intrigued initially, it failed to hold my interest. The MC and the priestess is also an odd mix but one I welcome. Her looking out for her and rambling in her presence was so adorable and the MC actually feels like a guy albeit a smooth one from the way she talks, the way she acts, the way she just is from her body language to her expressions. The blondie prince is a yandere through and through, there's no doubt about that. He is obsessed with the MC and is happy and content with even the slightest compliment or touch from her. He is prone to jealousy too with the priestess to the aide. Tho in his defense, those are a bit too extreme with the MC gifting her the present he gave to her that holds much value emotionally as well as in capital terms. The aide I wish could control his emotions more, every emotion he feels is plastered on his face and worse he acts on it. So.. Wait..the story about the Emperor and Empress was so heartwarming. Her being the bolder one with her initiating the kiss, the marriage and so on. She is a Spitfire through and through, the Emperor fell for her at first sight. I don't blame her..she is such a girl crush. Him getting angry at his aide and showing hostility when he told or advised him to stop meeting her telling him that he will let it go now but that there won't be a second time. Him actually killing the person who was responsible for making the drink containing poison that killed her on the spot ruthlessly was so satisfying yet heartbreaking. Him saying that he was not confident in protecting a world that didn't have her in it was..ugh gut wrenching. Him not crying because she told him not to cry..at first when it was mentioned that he did not shed a single tear in her death..I felt slighted and tho it was said that he loved her exceptionally, I doubted his love but I have since then been enlightened. So the Emperor × Empress ship all the way. The prince being curious about his mom and resorting to going to the library and scrounging through the heaps of books there for a description, a sentence or even a word about her after being denied left and right when he asked the palace people was so hard to watch. But the added info of the Emperor using his power to make the moonlight bright so his child can look through the mountain of books is so..I don't know sweet?
Trophy Husband
The MC is the Duke, is OP and has all the characteristics of a typical male lead. That also includes the dismissive nature of the one in power, the insensitivity and straight up humiliation they incur on their beloved. Only by seeing the reverse role do I realize how fucked up this is. Talking about the down payment and all...he is truly a sorry sight. One thing to note is that he is always lowering himself before her making it clear that she is the one who holds the reins in this relationship. The King subverted my expectations, I thought that he would betray her after using her for fear of her power but they remain good companions. And I hope it stays that way and that the line does not get blurred. I really hope. The thing about her heart is hardly interesting to me so I won't mention it. But it's cool that she can find a common place with the male lead since he himself has that power too
Eternal Covenant
This is absolutely fascinating! The MC being so different from his past self makes the story seem more real and relatable in a sense. So the Cardinal turned out to be the King's twin younger brother...I knew that there was a connection between the two but this was unexpected. I even had the thought that they looked alike but I left that to be the author's style since some authors have a distinct style that appears across their various work *ahem* Love Shuttle..The King's love for Ian is so noble and pure that I feel cleansed just by witnessing it and the Cardinal's is more twisted, possessive and dark. He imprinted himself on the young Ian and brainwashed him. So while Ian feels so much love towards Jack, he still feels guilty and indebted to his 'saviour'. The little kid was so cute but ended up being used as a pawn to lure out Ian. Ian being so anxious and on edge about Brian and him feeling jealous is valid since the tales about their bond and love is rampant in the kingdom. At first I brushed it off but him feeling that way is normal considering where he came from and how he lived until now. If he fails in regaining his memory, he won't become the 'Brian' that Jack cares so much for and he feels that his love is directed towards 'Brian' and not 'Ian'. Also their personalities are polar opposites, Brian seems to be a nice childhood and grew up being loved while the same cannot be said for Ian. Um..Sienna I know that you mean well but u are proving yourself to be a nuisance. The bodyguard though I like, since he is so collected and does his duty well. Brian essentially made up the King's personality. He taught him things from the scratch. How to handle people, how to feel and even his demeanor towards people is based on Brian himself.
I Have To Be A Great Villain
Oh Shit! I forgot to put this in my reading list, my bad! So the ml is a sadistic freak who is learning to be more empathetic with the help of his two friends. Will the male friend turn out to be a world or novel traveller like the both of them? I hope so. Um..the love interest is a bit fucked in the head. I don't know the whole deal with him yet since he might have some more history with the ML that we are not yet aware of, like that scene where he wore a uniform of some sort or where he was a magician..but him being his Lil bro (not by blood) and being able to read his mind was funny
I Can See Your Death
The concept is interesting. The ML is a feisty one, ain't he? The MC is colder and more logical, always composed usually. Her amnesia and her ability..there must be some tie between the two.The third prince seems to know something about the MC, about the year 23, her ability and why he detest the church. Even when the MC and ML visited the church for research, the MC felt sick. So??? Oh and the MC having some weird sleepwalking in the night of the founding day. She called out Elior and got angry at ML for saying he was Elior. She strangled him and said he was the one who killed her. And there seem to be some lying undertone that the MC is already dead. But why is the third Prince's death a question (?) mark. I do like the dynamic between our main characters, they are so caring towards eo and the ML is a good ruler who prioritise the people's safety. The MC while saying that she isn't doing some grand thing just cuz of her ability, is still advising people which she has only met once and tries to change things subtly. The second prince is an anomaly but he can prophesise allegedly. The relationship between the princes are strained, I would expect them to at least be cordial since they all look alike so I deducted that they all had the same mother. The thing with the necklace is also intriguing...when the MC saw inside the necklace (it was a locket) while dusting it, despite the ML warning her or anyone not to look inside. The silence then the hostility was hilarious
Even The Demon King, One Step At A Time
This is hype as fuck!! There were only 11 chapters on Webtoon so I came here to read more as I was intrigued.. Biggest surprise ever!! It had 128 chapters! Thank god for that one commenter that recommended this series while I was reading 'Ember knight'. Sometimes I get lost in the plot because it introduces various things one after the other so it's confusing and sometimes draining to read but it didn't lose that spark that made me interested. Yuria doesn't feel like the MC in a way, like I get that feeling more from Raglard and I love our gang btw. I feel like this series take inspiration from 'One Piece' and I'm not complaining cuz that's a fucking masterpiece. The guy with the hat gives me such an icky feeling but he's a fascinating character nonetheless. The 'warrior' selection was an interesting concept, I miss Wooth. The death scenes shocked me to the core! Like damn people be dying one after the other. I have the biggest girl crush on Ariah.. Like she is such a badass. She's so strong even without using her inhuman side? Like sign me up! My latest obsession, seriously. Her being the weaker twin I kind of predicted when we got her flashback (thanks to 'Rem and Ram'). Their dad actually loved them and was contemplating escaping to save both of them! You have no idea how that affects me. Him still hesitating on whether to kill Ariah made me clutch my chest and when I saw that scene with them looking at him while playing. This is not okay!!The dark Lord being a sickly looking man was not what I expected, him having a subordinate I did not foresee. Based on what was said, I thought he would be the loner brooding type but alas. What else? I love that the thing with Yuria's memory was explored and properly explained.. Two existence together forms the lovely MC we know. The gags were fun. I like that the Warriors tie in with Yuria cuz just by seeing the first appearance of Ragaella (?) I could tell it was an extension of Yuria but I couldn't understand what angle the author would take that could justify this. Consider me seated and satisfied. The translation made me iffy at first cuz it's not the best. Certainly not on par with the Webtoon's translation and the use of 'mate' irked me. However the use of old language fits in with the setting of this manhwa.. Especially with the inhumans whose life span has stretched for hundreds if not thousands of years.
In the Doghouse
Why am I eating this shit up? I'm sooo enjoying this.. I don't even recognize myself. What is life? I am so curious how the prince became so obsessed with her.. I'm sure we'll find out but man I'm so excited! Of course she makes a spectacle of herself everytime she's with her family because of their bullshit. He knows the ins and outs of their household.. And I love the dead eyes/empty yet strangely alluring eyes he has everytime he looks at Courtney. He seems to be testing her.. He's so dom in the way he's so sub.. I love it! This is mad! I have seen my fair share of kinks but this tops everything! It may have awakened something in me. PS I hate her family.. Her dumb father, her mother who thinks money grows on trees and is totally oblivious to their financial issues, her elder brother who keeps drowning them in debt, even selling her in the process, her crybaby sister in law who gives Karen from 'Mean Girls' a run for her money. Like what the fuck!! I love iove love her nephew tho.. He's all that's good in the world..
