Today's Shou-Joke Webtoon
High praises for this webtoon..it seems to be a parody of sorts of the shoujo genre from what the comments insinuate..will read later when I need a good laugh as it seems to be a comedy
Shades and Shadows
Love what the comments say so far..don't want a story that just focuses on romance so that's nice...I don't mind romance taking a backseat...It seems to be my type of read
Only I Can See Them!
An anonymous app where people rant and show their true colours...however the mc can see the real names of the students so all the dirty deets are known by him...his childhood friend whom he had a crush on has a boyfriend who is seemingly perfect...good looks, tall, smart, nice and good at sports..is *drumroll please* a two timer
Ashita wa Docchi Da!
It has the essence of shounen ai but it doesn't shy away from showing sexual acts...the dicks are uncensored and it is kind of informative tho it wasn't anything that I didn't already know...Vaseline being used as a kind of lube was fascinating? I mean it can work? Kirara is so innocent and simple minded and Ken is just a grumpy and horny teenager plus the good looks height and physique..he is good in fighting..tho it came as a bit of a surprise to me that Aniki is bicurious on top of Ken being gay only for Kirara tho he did date some girls and seem to have experience in kissing etc..the dad is also gay..the brothers hated homos and were homophobic..tho that didn't last...the naivety and logic only work in mangas tho..but anyway the author seems to take inspiration from haikyuu main leads Hinata and Kageyama with the iconic "Hinata boke" with "stupid kirara"..hinata's sunshine like personality and high eq and extroverted nature is reflected on Kirara...it seems like a doujinshi of some sort...the qualms I have is that they are 15 year olds..I would prefer it if they were a bit older...tho it isn't unrealistic..it takes away from a bit of the experience...four stars for this YAOI yet shounen manga..
Quoth the Boy
Short and sweet...Honestly I didn't expect to like it this much...it's so simple and cliche and corny....but I always have a smile reading this... MC, at first I thought would be a bit of a Mary Sue character turned out to have insecurities, a savage side, bold and a spine (not a push over)...her seeing a dress she wants but refusing to buy it when she sees another girl wearing it (because she is tall and have curves)and felt insecure...and proceeding to buy baggy clothes and clothes that are a bit masculine(?)as she puts it is so annoyingly relatable and made me attached to her character and showed depth...The first thing that caught my eye about her was when she got irritated at the way Suju was treating her and retaliated a bit after she tried her best to be friends with her...Her friendship with Suju was so organic and natural which shocked me a bit...The way Suju shows affection or her love language is so on brand with her character and image...It made me fangirl a bit..The three idiots interactions are truly how boys hang out I feel...just dumb and comical...The ex also actually had depth to her too with her being bitter about ml and mc relationship as ml never showed her affection (the way lovers are/treated like a friend) and looked at her like he did with Suju...Her talk with him on the rooftop just made me feel for her..and finally beating him to get rid of the feeling on her chest(ie what has been bothering her the whole time) and also throwing a hanky to wipe the blood or dust off him was a cherry on top...the confession was a failure but when mc kisses ml and he gets all flustered and she kisses him again and confesses too...adorable!! BTW Ch22 was the highlight for me...MC is so funny
19 Days
The comments are super positive and the synopsis is so enticing. I feel like it would be my type of read but 300+ chapters. I need to make a commitment and besides I feel like I would blush or be flustered while reading this so my pillow and phone is gonna be suffering again sadly.
Sensei de, sekkusu no renshū shite ī?
The uke is ruffling my feathers..like the plot is stupidly fast paced as it is but the uke is..WOW..I thought he would be in his 20s at least but he is in his 30s getting jealous over a high school girl..that's so lame..the age gap does bother me after all..it's also the fact that he acts like a victim in the midst of it all..how does someone fall for a kid? Also his sudden burst of emotions..him fainting in the classroom cuz of him overworking and not getting enough sleep over a kid..seriously? Him overhearing the seme's conversation with his gf about his feelings for her or lack thereof and here he is being conflicted over the guy in question..he is your friend's nephew...his uncle is your first love..he bears great resemblance to him I know..but it is clear as day that this guy who is supposed to be an adult is acting like a damn child!! The seme is childish and falls into the 'good at everything+ popular ikemen' trope but he gets a pass cuz his childhood is honestly not the best with him not having a mother so he could not have breakfast and eats readymade foods..his father is clearly busy with his work so he doesn't have time for him. His age is also a justification for his asshole attitude at times. Like he is acting like a kid..and that's OK cuz he is a kid..but how do u expect him to be mature and all..I have some problem with him being the seme..He clearly doesn't respect uke either so the whole power balance thing is out the window..anyways two stars
The Villainess, Cecilia Silvie, Doesn't Want to Die, So She Decided to Cross-dress!
I wanna go back to the basics
Jungle Juice
It's under the same name in Webtoon but a chapter short of this one..so season 1 is completed and the second season won't start till next year..that's a shame. After bingeing it, I loved it but if I were to read it week to week, I might think differently. The MC got on my nerves at first NGL. Also his character development was so fast and sudden and felt so out of place that I had to make an active effort to continue reading this. The characters are stereotypical but that's not a complaint. I'm not mad about the romance aspect for once, that's rare. My fav character at this moment would be Professor Ji, love that man. The villain's tbh don't scare me in the slightest, it maybe also be due to the setting but when the villain's appear I'm just like :| The plot isn't the most complex and frankly the title seemed wacky as heck but I'm glad I decided to give it a try cuz it was a good read.
