Lamia Orphe is Dead
Seems like a fun read!!
The Reason Why Ophelia Can’t Get Away From The Duke
Read upto ch33..currently there are 50 chapters. I have a lot of problems with this manhwa...it presents itself as a mystery drama type of webtoon yet it doesn't keep me on edge, or makes me feel intrigued. In every chapter there is a cliffhanger yet in the next chapter it gets resolved or it is a misunderstanding or misdirect of some sorts, it feels so anti-climactic and I feel like I got duped like one of those YouTube thumbnails..Ophelia and Alec seem to be equally as psycho as eo yet suspect eo..then they appear to be innocent. Either the author doesn't know what to do with this plot or they completely gave up..Alec seems like a psycho..The MC who is probably OP as heck with her magical ability is sooo weak..the death of her mom and the duke (which is a mystery) don't make me curious at all.. Henrietta who is obsessed with Alec also dies under the hands of MC's brother(I say this lightly cuz her mom was a player and had tons of hubbies)..the deal with the syringe ugh..I am the most suspicious of the detective rather than anyone else..ironic right? The translation also sucks ass..the plot is messy as heck..the art style makes everyone look the same..they look so plain..I was planning on giving it two stars but as I'm writing this review, I'mma change it to one cuz I held all the way to ch33 yet I am still as confused as ever if not more so..my mood is sour :(
The Tyrant's Reign
The comments are heavily positive. I feel like it is a haven for fujoshis so I can't bring myself to even get why they like this so much. I finished 1 chapter and I think I already get a gist of how this is going or going to go, I mean the synopsis definitely helped too. The uke is a bit too ripped imo..him acting a bit of a seductress while the emperor is aware of his intentions is a joy to read. The problem I have with is I don't want to continue, I don't know why..
The Real Daughter is Back
What the actual fuck did I just read? My goodness..what is this monstrosity??!! I felt like some manhwas just put in some cliches every now and then, tbh I already thought I saw the worst this genre had to offer..but alas. The whole villainess trope is an overdone theme but I didn't mind it cuz eventho it is basically the same characteristic and plot, the authors would put their own twist to it. But this, nuh uh..the author just mimics people's works..the lines they say, the gesture and the situation all the way to their personality. 'Actually I was the real one' is another manhwa I've read..and although it wasn't my fav read, it still executed its role well. This in the other hand, the MC is so goddamn annoying and the author trying to make her a villainess by giving her traits that surrounds the whole villain characters..yet it falls flat. The ML..sigh..knows everything tho I wouldn't put it on his intelligence or whatever, the MC was so obvious..the whole abusive family situation isn't properly executed and it's hard to feel sorry for anyone. Oh like the nanny's death was in vain..the MC still craves for the mom's attention. What was that line that she said? "Rohan..the young Helga that you once knew is no more. She died in that winter night with her nanny".. no bitch..you the one acting like a damn child!! Her accomplishments are just for trophy or a necessity by the plot cuz how can she act like that and u expect me to believe she is actually smart and a genius that only appears once in a lifetime..don't know yet if the sister is a white lotus or not yet tho
W: Two Worlds
So this was the draft for the K-drama W, huh? It is completely different tho that doesn't really surprise me with their knack for changing things completely even with 'True Beauty' they did my boy Suho dirty. It's so childish and all over the place, it can be clearly seen that it was made by an amateur. Yep, definitely. I liked the first few episodes of the K-drama..how it started. The MC was so relatable and the ML was charming. Then maybe because of the greed of the producers or people in charge, they monopolised the heck out of it..the story with its wholesome and sweet light hearted tone suddenly turned into a drama thriller and with plot twists after plot twists, it finally took its toll on me and my sis and we sighed a breath of relief when it finally ended. So this is completely different to the K-drama version..it's much more silly and light toned than the drama. They are younger, the ML isn't a celebrity or a public figure yet. The MC isn't a doctor in practice just a trainee of some sorts. The plot is also completely different. The father of the MC is not as involved in this version. The way the MC got into the world of the manhwa is also different..in the drama, since the ML was on deathbed and was profusely bleeding, his tenacious will allowed it to take a form and drag the MC to his world. The drama is much more professional. Also, the creator of the manhwa isn't her dad this time..and she wasn't that big a fan of the ML in the drama. So the scriptwriters and the team that worked on the adaption worked their asses off and improved upon the original. Imo they only took the concept and what followed after were their creative inputs and their experience working in this industry.
More Than You Know
The MC is literally so normal and average. The trauma isn't even that deep, it feels like a children's book. I thought she would be more mature but she is mature for her current age 14 (not her real age that is 20+). Anyway Shelby likes her but she doesn't like him back. I hope that she doesn't come to like him, that's too weird. He is a literal child whom she saw grow up. Even now he is only 12 years old, anyway the story is going into the generic dense girl plot so whatever. The name Geoffrey for her brother was so out of the blue that I was amused.
I Hated It Even More
This is a dumpster fire. The plot is all over the place, the characters don't make sense and the translation is shit. I don't understand anything, it feels like the MC is oppressed by her incompetent parents yet seems to be the one running the duchy behind the scenes (or maybe they are a marquis household). It's confusing. Anyway the sister isn't as annoying as I thought she would be based on first impressions. The ML is not as influential as the mahwa makes him seem or maybe the author sucks ass at writing a coherent plot.
Flash Behavior
I don't know how to feel about this. Frankly I'm very confused, I get the idea but the execution is severely lacking. The MC is hard to follow, she feels so empty..there's nothing interesting about her other than her ability to communicate with the eaters. More exploration on her mental state would be nice, but man she's just so stale. Also the story isn't gore enough and unsettling enough for this type of story.. Cannibalism and government vs rebels is a very interesting topic yet it still falls flat. The art style is wonky as hell.. There are no expressions on their faces, the angles, the body shape, the neck, the proportions.. Everything is off. Also that boyfriend of hers reminds me of CP9 Lucci from One Piece. That probably is the intended result yet we get him.. Whatever
My Obsessive Father's Heroic Homecoming
I like the ML. I thought I would take the FL's side but that wasn't the case. Deciding things for her daughter and her bitch of a mother telling her to repay the doctor is deplorable. I hate her mom so much, bitch stay dead why you telling your daughter to be grateful and repay the doctor.. You're the reason she's in this dilemma in the first place, how ungrateful. Also I hate how demure she is but the manhwa is tryna fool us into thinking she's a resolute woman who can manage herself. Ugh.. How I hate when she says she can manage herself. Bitch you can't and how dumb do you have to be to go to the book keeper even after everything. The second male lead is genuinely so kind so I don't think I'll continue this again. I'll just end up feeling bad for him, tbh I feel bad for him even now. I wish she did this out of her feelings for him but she's still in love with ML but doing this just because she is indebted to him. Reminds me of the setting for 'Selfish Love'.. Currently at Ch20.
