I Was Born As The Demon Lord's Daughter
I read like the first five chapters of this manhwa and it didn't keep my interest so I dropped it. But I keep seeing people praise it and in the lists of favourite manhwas including the one I am currently scrolling through, so I'mma give it another shot. I even advised my sister against it and she was like "Really? I have heard some really good things about it tho", so yeah.
I Became the Younger Sister of a Regretful Obsessive Male Lead
It was originally a bl but now is a heterosexual manhwa..I don't know how to feel about this cuz it just seem a bit insensitive to me honestly, I guess there is a bit of logic sprinkled in the fact that the og novel revolves around the fact that the uke was the only person to show the seme affection of some sorts so he grew attached to him regardless of the gender or sexuality, I kinda like that cuz I am of the belief that everyone is fluid in their feelings, they are just constrained by norms of the society. How I feel about this manhwa? It has a nice and easygoing feel to it. It obviously tackles child abuse and homosexuality as well as animal abuse to some extent? But overall it doesn't feel serious. It doesn't try to delve deeper into the problems that it has, rather it states it as if it's a piece of information to the reader i.e us. The fact that the ml's dad was in a relationship with fl's father yet was forced to be apart due to the previous duke i.e the ml's grandpa, adding to it the fact that ml resembles the father of the duke (currently) who abused him for loving a man and split them up, is a reason for the ml's abuse. And the og Rachel who grew up pampered by the same duke who abused the ml cuz she resembles Liam (his lover) all the way from her green hair and bright personality, is a reasonable reason to why she partook in the abuse of ml and she was the first one of the side characters to die by ml's hands. Another problem is the MC's overall atitude, someone once said that the overall tone of the story depends on the MC and their personality and outlook on life. This is an interesting case that supports that claim cuz MC is fully aware of the circumstance that ml is in cuz she read it and he is apparently her bias but she fails to notice his state of mind and has a hopelessly positive and simple mindset on how to solve the problems faced by the ml. She is akin to a privileged nepotism child who says she only got the position she is in cuz of their hard work alone and not cuz of their parents position or connection, it seems as flimsy as that. The plot is stupid all in all. No logic just some cliches in romance and isekai plot meshed together that doesn't flow well at all. The author is either a novice or someone trying to take advantage of the current trend of the over saturated genre of isekai.
I Became the Ugly Lady
This mahwa is so tone deaf in its issues ranging from fatphobia to uglyphobia? I have no idea but the mc already seems to be a result of the society we live in unfortunately. The body she possesses is fat and obese with pimples. She is also a shut in character so she tries to improve upon it by exercising, eating only vegetables, dieting etc. It sets a bad example from the first chapter alone. I hate how easy it is for her to lose weight and that pimples can be easily gone poof just like that? As someone who has been suffering and still is from the two problems, it isn't easy. Exercising works but it is so hard to maintain it and looking at your reflection in the mirror and being disgusted by your body and face with scars, acnes and pimples. It just sells it short. It presents the people suffering form this issues as lazybums who don't put in any effort and just mindlessly complain about it, not trying to improve their health or body and whatnot. I have been trying really hard and I have some results but it doesn't last or the effects take place slowly. It just made me feel bitter and sour for being misrepresented.
I’m Worried that My Brother is Too Gentle
It is indeed a shoujo manhwa..so typical and filled with cliches, all the way to having an overprotective and loving brother and family to having the crown prince be the ml. Those two things are not the only things that bothered me, I could mind it as it is already a staple in this genre and medium so whatever I guess. The problem is the MC, missy you are a 20+ working adult who already had bf in your previous love coupled with the info about the world u are in currently, so why r acting like a fucking child? Everything about her irks me, from her clothes to her hairstyle to her childish thoughts and preconceived notions all so for the plot to make her end up with the ML. She could be hailed as a genius with her knowledge from her past life as well as being an adult in a modern world working in a company. But she acts stupid, seriously a scrapbook? U fucking kidding me? Her acting like a child, skipping everywhere, everytime she pouts I lose a minute of my life. Her being dependent on her brother also doesn't sit right with me cuz she is way older than him yet is being cared for by a young teenager. She doesn't try to improve her brother's situation despite lamenting on it, I mean she does try to solve it but the way she goes about it is at the level of a child and not a full grown adult. Why couldn't the author just make it a story about a privileged noble lady whose story we can see from her childhood, then it would make more sense. She isn't even utilising her knowledge and memories and it seems to be there only for the current trend of isekai so..why? Btw, I only read till Ch5 but I will drop it. I can't bring my level down to read shit like this.
The Titan's bride
Love me a gentle and loving Titan, the uke is quite an interesting pick cuz he is actually the typical it boy in highschool cuz he is good at playing sports and has good physique and is a bit bulky. His whole attitude and vibe completely changed after he was transported into another world. Him wearing a dress and the way he stands and blushes makes me think of a girl, maybe cuz of the S shape in the way he curves his body or the author drew him in such a way to make him more androgynous. The change is a bit too sudden for me. His love rival is such a hottie. The way the Titan cares for him and his gaze towards him is so loving and gentle. But a legitimate question, how is his cock gonna fit? Like he a Titan!!
I Don't Want to Become Crown Princess!!
I won't call it smut as it's not steamy enough to be called that but I won't rate it PG13 as well so there's that..the whole plot or lack thereof is so amusing to me..it's like the plot of a porn..it's the most unnecessary thing..the whole libido thing was comical..the princess is a whole stupidass person..the crown prince being the typical ml who doesn't know the word 'consent'.. what more is there? Oh..the second male lead, yeah he is pitiful, a childhood friend it seems falling into that cliche again. The prince tried to force her in marriage by imprinting on her which can only be possible by casting a spell while breaking the hymen, so OUCH!! He cummed inside her..he filled her with his seeds..ugh trying to make her preggy isn't a good look on you..the whole love at first sight bullshit..tsk tsk.. anyways the MC used contraception by visiting a witch for it..which is a thing to be shocked by apparently cuz that witch is really hard to come across and the prince has been searching for the old hag as well concerning his libido.. But I come back to this every once in a while..haha I don't even know why!! A guilty read?? That's possible!!
Sickly? Husband's Contractual Wife
Maybe someday? Not likely but u never know? The synopsis sounds like a Chinese manhua/novel..so typical and cliche..like how u gonna take care of him and be surprised when he gets attached to u..the plot tho..heiha!!
Dragon Raising Manual
Hmm..it's quite mild I feel, it doesn't pop off and catch your attention. It just is. The thing I can't quite grasp is why she decided to just skip the background info and seemingly forgot all about it, is it just for plot convenience? It probably is, isn't it? The ml is a tan hottie..I gave it a chance cuz of him, so how is he a dragon? He has pointy ears which makes me think he is well...an elf but a dragon? Is he a half-breed or is it a disguise? I also have an inkling that his sister is not blind. The MC overall tho I have only read upto ch5 has been nothing but a disappointment. Seriously the art doesn't make it any better, it looks like she has a lazy eye. The incest part is pretty realistic and I like it when historical stories of any kind implement that cuz it's a fact. Also it's a guilty tag of mine tho I don't have that type of attachment with my own siblings. I love seeing it in stories. It is scandalous and I love every moment of it.. if they are pretty
The Duchess Who Sees Ghosts
Like the title says, it is a manhwa about the MC who can see a ghost, she is a sort of exorcist/shaman even in her past life and has been revived into this life by the god she serves Mago. She is like a vessel for the god so she is a precious human for the god. The ml is like not interesting at all, the MC too..I have been introduced to a limited number of characters yet none of them stick out. The painter is an interesting fella but he seems to take a liking to our MC already so sayonara. The MC's personality who priorities money over all things, man I have seen it done so many times before but atleast the other characters who had that characteristic had like a decent backstory to it, this Webtoon does provide a reason for her obsession with it but I feel it isn't enough since she even puts aside her morals for that. I also don't appreciate how the story is so on the nose about certain things or maybe all things. Like the ML muttering the most sus things but we can see what he is saying in those little bubbles yet the characters are unaware of it. There seems to be a bit of a mystery of how the ML met MC but I am not intrigued at all. Also I think I am even more disappointed cuz there is another manhwa with the same premise with incredible artwork, metaphors, good characters who are properly fleshed out, a bit of a history sprinkled in there, the emotions being on full display and the MC in that manhwa can also see ghost even in her last life to now so...btw I am taking about '*Secret Lady*'..mwah chef's kiss The noses of the characters go missing in some panels and everything seems so cluttered. The action scenes. I have no idea what's showing on with all the wind effects and the *wham bam swish* thingy..but it's so stupid. I gave it a chance, I read it till ch25 tho I could already tell by the first chapter that it wasn't anything special.
