Sister, I Am the Queen in This Life
What a typical shoujo revenge story. The story itself is like a staight up copy of other manhwas that includes time travel into the past or reincarnation, it was like exactly copy pasted straight from other manhwas. The half-sister is a realist, the fact that she admits that that trashy man only likes her now but as time passes he will miss the MC who had been by his side for 14 years, so inorder not to disrupt her future, she killed her little sis. Out of the multiple problems I have with this manhwa, the worst is probably the quick change in emotions like when she first saw Isabella, she was shaking and was afraid cuz she is face to face with her killer yet she's smirking and planning her revenge the next scene. When she saw the crown prince, she felt guilty and ashamed yet she convinces herself that it's all good cuz they are in the past and she hasn't killed him yet so she suddenly becomes easygoing and cracks jokes, like girly that's not how human psychology works? If it were that easy, would u have been so obssessive over that trashy man for 14 whole years..it's just plot convenience. I thought at least the art would be good cuz that's the only praise the commenters gave but it's lacking.. everything is so stale and it feels like a Chinese manhua rather than a Korean manhwa and that says a lot
She's The Older Sister Of The Obsessive Male Lead
Okayyy..the story is all over the place and nothing seems to make sense. The way the brother immediately changed was unrealistic to say the least, and there doesn't seem to be a compelling reason for his obssessive nature. He has loving parents and a good older sister so I don't know where the problem lies. He was the same as a child it seems like. How did the old him feel about the sister?
The Duke's 99th Bride
I have no idea how to feel about this story eventhough I have read upto Ch40. At first, everything seemed to be moving so fast with all the foundations for this plot being set then it felt like the story stayed in the same place and did not move for a while. The MC is..how do I say this? Not consistent. Sometimes she acts like a country bumpkin who easily blushes and is impressed by everything then a noblewoman who is ignorant of the world and is easily gullible, then an airhead who doesn't enact revenge or clapback even when placed in danger, then a smart and physically strong person the next minute. The writer seems to have quite an imaginative mind, with how the characters and the way the story is going. It feels like the characters are being jerked around by the plot. An established fact that we know about a character is disregarded in a critical moment, like the ML being able to talk back to the Emperor then being aware of people's eyes. Then the MC fighting back against Terry then acting like a damsel in distress when the Emperor's guards target her and the servants and butler are put in danger. My fav character rn is Penelope. She is CONSISTENT and a goofball. I like her. Not to the level of Terry tho. That boyy is whipped!!
Second Life of a Trash Princess
The art style feels icky..the expressions and gestures feel muddled. The plot itself isn't engaging nor are the characters and relationships in this story. The Emperor's change of mind was a bit too sudden, I would have preferred it to be more gradual and more realistic so it feels genuine and not something done just for decoration. The MC's solution to her current predictable is taken straight out of the most common used logic possible in this genre and medium. The character I hate the most rn is the Emperor without a doubt. Why would u blame your daughter for the death of her mother? Why her, why not Theo who was practically the reason she died (FYI she died in childbirth), not saying that is better but it makes more sense? Why are u still doing things that hinder your daughter even when u feel guilty? Why are u so dumb!? Seriously u increased the security on the prince and princess because of an assassination attempt but don't do a background check? Why is that random lady trustworthy enough to make a cure for poison or truth serum when she is clouded in mystery? I heard that a fault all emperors share is paranoia yet he's so trusting!!!?? Huh?? I share the same complaints even now but it seems I was too haste in my judgment before. One of my friend Otiben recommended me this and I actually really like it now.
Taishou Otome Otogibanashi
I looove looove looove this!!! The MCs are so nice and heartwarming and wholesome and such good people. The way Yuzu is so patient with our ML and dotes on him and cares for him, consoling him..ahh I want her as my wife. Also our ML is nothing to scoff at either although he considers himself a pessimist, he is such a positive person who considers the bright side to everything. He considered suicide as a means to escape because he was essentially disowned by his rich ass family and sent to live in a deserted house where his grandpa spent his later years and died, in a distant and rural village. His wife is truly his saving grace. He is so funny, I love how he accepts Yuzu's goodwill and kindness, compliments her cooking and his blushing..so adorable!! His tsundere sister I grew to love only after a few pages with her..I love the twist that she admires her brother and doesn't see him as a disgrace despite his disability. Also the friend of Yuzu who got pregnant..at first I was a bit skeptical and wary since teenage pregnancy causes a lot more damage in a society to the young girl than the boy so I thought that was irresponsible but now I am starting to get it. Above all our dear sweet MC reminds me so much of my best friend Mari ️
Marriage and Sword
It's so unnecessarily flashy but there's no substance. Even if our MC has talent in Kendo in her past life and is an Olympic contender, how is she able to be so proficient in it after just picking it up with so many years living as a noble lady wasted? It makes no sense. Her binding her chest, cutting and dyeing her hair so she can work as a mercenary to make ends meet was also so generic. Also the sounds they make while fighting was so stupid 'Hyaah' 'Urgh' 'Aghh' and so on. The action scenes are deplorable. The ML seems so douchey, I suspect as the chapters go on he becomes better but I don't like him having only read two chapters. I refuse to read more. I need to get in the habit of dropping books, instead of wasting my time reading trashy books I should look for gems like 'Your throne', that comic is excellence in itself. So that's it
I Don’t Want To Be Duke’s Adopted Daughter-in-law
The title is so misleading..didn't she immediately agree to being adopted? I mean with a condition ofcourse : the servants should be fired in the orphanage, (they neglect their duties and indulge in gambling while the orphans have to fend for themselves). The fl is pretty with blonde hair and green eyes while the ml has black hair and blue eyes. The MC is currently 13 years old in this life with the name 'Ellie' and the ML is two years younger with the age of 11 going by the name 'Damien'. The MC is the daughter of a famous thief who stole jewelleries from the Emperor's treasury and was found in a Count's residence and comitted suicide or was executed (not sure the translation differs on each chapter). So the MC was brought back to the orphanage countless times because her mom was a thief. The empire has two Dukes; one in charge of commerce and the other - war. The former is the father of the ML and the latter the adoptive father of ML. The two Dukes were close friends. They commanded such power that rivaled the power and authority of the Emperor and on top of it all they were friends so they were a threat to the Emperor. So he ordered an assassination on the ML's parents, framed as a carriage accident of some sort but the ML survived. The ML led a hard life, being treated as a slave and an entertainment for some nobles who dabbled in illegal acts. He also had a master who unsurprisingly abused him. The MC is isekaid so she knew of the book's plot and helped the ML. At first she just ignored him and did not take part in bullying him as the og Ellie took part in bullying him and was kicked out of the orphanage and froze to death. Then the look on ML's face reminded her of herself so she helped him. The ML is already whipped for her and the MC is a sweet older sister to him rn and I love that dynamic. It will change in time but I like it. The MC also "accidentally" ran into the duke and subtly told him that there were five boys with black hair when the orphanage only showed him four boys, he figured they were hiding the real child of his friend. Also he decided to adopt the MC as well as his daughter-in-law. The issues in this story is so minor and so stupid. Like a man trying to frame the MC of stealing a jewel by ordering a maid to put it in her pocket. And all this would magically make sense considering her mom was a thief so that inturn makes her a thief. The MC ofcourse put it back in his pocket without him knowing therefore turning the tables on him. Idk if I should call her a girlboss but that didn't even make me blink. Also there seems to be some mystery with the MC's pastlife, it doesn't seem to be the typical modern world's setting. Also the Duke is reminded of a woman (his lover?) everytime he sees the MC so there is something there. Maybe MC has a secret to her birth.
The Elegant Sea of Savagery
Yup..this is the story for me. To think that the story I dropped a while back after reading the first chapter would fit my taste so much. I like that the ML's obsession is a bit explainable and he himself is aware of it. The way he wanted to shackle her and force her to be by his side using any means, latching onto her weaknesses and exploiting it, but being hurt when she is sad and miserable when she is crying. He feels so much for her..her getting angry at him and calling him a bastard makes him smile, her seeing him off eventhough that's her duty made his day, and he was willing to pay for her ex's meditation and do whatever she wanted as long as she was by his side. Also important to note, when the MC and her ex finally broke out, the MC was in a drunken stupor and in such a situation she agreed to sleep with ML. She even says "If you are a good man, you will not agree in such a situation" to which he replied "Fortunately, I am a bastard". That did not make me hate him, that fits his character so much that it makes me feel for him even more. Him clutching the opportunity that finally came to him was so desperate but so telling of his yearning for the MC. Also, the MC's tenacity makes me so fond of her, she is so loyal but knows when to let go. Her acknowledging how the ML has helped her was nice, she doesn't take it for granted. Her skills as a saleswoman reminded me of some real-life saleswoman in my place. She is so talented. The ML asking her to speak to him like she did to the customers was so hot. It is also noteworthy how naturally the MC and ML's relationship progressed. We know that the ML loves her all the way back but the MC also has feelings for her tho she doesn't tell it to the ML cuz of the situation, the differences between them and their history. It was so seamless. Also the ML's development *chef's kiss*. The MC although hot-tempered is so sincere, how she helped the ML and did not treat him with prejudice and treated him the same way even tho he was technically blackmailing her was nice.
Ani no Senaka
Our dear MC is in love with his late sister's husband. He fell in love the moment he met him when his sister introduced him and he has been in love ever since. They worked in the same place and were newlyweds, half a year into their marriage, the healthy wife suddenly fell sick and passed away. Since then, our MC has lived together with his brother-in-law, it has been three years if I'm not mistaken. His older sister was more like a second mother to him than a sister and he owes a lot to her so he is swarmed by feelings of guilt towards his second mom. However, he wants to touch his Aniki, feel his warmth and feels happy to be near him. Convinced that he will never be free from this feeling, he planned on moving to Osaka after he graduates and stay as faraway from his Aniki as possible. His Aniki doesn't like that and wants him to stay with him. He has come to depend on him, since MC cooks for him, sets the table, packs his lunch and basically acts like a wife. He brags about his cute brother to his co-workers, a reason he is not popular as said by his female workers, and is proud of him. Okayyyy..I finished it and have come to the conclusion that Shindou is the MVP. He needs more screentime. I love how he helped Yuki and his Aniki maneuver through their rocky relationship. Also before I read the first chapter, that panel of Shindou complaining about how people often mistakes him as a homo while saying "Yuki is beautiful. He has smooth and soft skin, he is good at cooking and has a cute face when he is troubled" in the same breath is peak comedy. Also, I was shocked finding out that he actually had a girlfriend. The seme telling him that he should spend his free days with his gf instead of Yuki and him replying with "I do as I please". He is such a role model..Pfft
