I love this manga so much, and I have gotten attached to all the characters, especially Ueno and Mafuyu. Ueno is so relatable sometimes, and Mafuyu is just a tiny cute little fluffball, and we must protecc. Mafuyu's past is a good lesson in self-forgiveness and dealing with grief. The build-up of Ueno and Mafuyu's relationship is amazing (I love any relationship dynamic that surrounds music, food, or any of the other arts), and I'm glad that the manga didn't wholly center around it and put time into other characters' relationships. The ending is so sweet, and I'm so happy that Mafuyu had to work on himself a little more before he could get his true happy ending. The anime and the manga are fantastic, and I will definitely reread this in the future. Also, it's a breath of fresh air to see BL manga/BL anime that gets a lot of attention but doesn't have problematic tropes, borderline illegal relationships, or the classic sunshine extrovert guy x shy introvert loner guy dynamic. Given shows that these kinds of manga/animes can work and still be as if not way more enjoyable than the average Yaoi show and still be successful. I'm so sad to see it come to an end. Hopefully, the author will add the usual author's note or extra chapters. Maybe we'll get lucky enough to get a sequel when they're all in college or adults, maybe not. If we don't get those things, I'm happy if it ends here because it implies that even though our journey with them is ending, theirs is just beginning.

From Green Kitchen

Complete | Aki Ueda | 2000 released

10/10 will read it again. Such a cute couple TT TT. I love how he encouraged him to open his food truck and also got rid of the trope where one of them throws their whole life and job away to be with the other person. This shows that long-distance can work out, even though it's hard, as long you work at it everything will be fine. ^^ I love food-centric couples so this was definitely a breath of fresh air. This mangaka never misses.

10 years where I loved you the most

Complete | Choda | 2000 released

Amazing but sad story. I hate tragedy cuz it makes me feel like I wasted my time but this story felt realistic and a seeing the MC get over his abusive relationship and be able to move on was nice until the final moments when he expresses his love to his ex-partner to his new one. That was just devastating to me. The new guy did so much for the MC only for the MC to mention his ex in his final moments. That kind of brought the rating down for me. You never wanna be anybody’s rebound. Also the relationship between a doctor and his patient is kinda iffy ngl, but that’s just a minor nitpick. :/

Sad ending F*ck off. Hour of my life wasted. Taking my heart and squashing it at the end I can't stand tragedies. Anyways take my 10 out of 10 and leave I'm gonna go cry. This manga has no right to be this gorgeous either.

Heart no Kakurega

Complete | Natsume Isaku | 2012 released

I want to give this a 10/10, but I hate how Jin and Momo's relationship developed. Raping someone in their sleep is a no-no, and kissing without consent. I skipped their whole arc because I was like, aww, I thought they were hiding it, not that they weren't together, and Momo wasn't into it, and Jin was pushing it. But other than that, everything else is excellent. I got attached to all the characters; I can fricking remember their names. The girls are so sweet, especially Ayano, and I love how Hazuki threatened Ichimaru not to fall in love with Ayano lmao. I low-key ship the girls together. I like how it was a good balance of all the characters' appearances and relationships. Izumi and Haruto's relationship is hands down one of the best I have seen in a long time. Izumi is so understanding of Haruto's shortcomings and most definitely autism-coded quirks, and he is just so patient with him and accepts him for who he is. I was worried about the age gap tag, but it fell under my ok age limit (0-5 and 6-10), and they're both adults, so it's just right. THIS IS HOW YOU DO AGE GAP PEOPLE. I love how they're both just such airheads for each other, and the way Izumi acted during the Ichimaru arc puts him in my book as one of the best "seme" characters I have seen in a long time. Reading this makes me want to live where my neighbors would just become my friends lmao. I definitely will reread this.
