The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy At All

Ongoing | Arai Sumiko | 2000 released

Ughhhhh why isn’t this completed I love these two so much, this is probably one of my favorite GL stories. I love all the characters. The art is gorgeous the green the mangaka uses is gorgeous. I’m not as good reviewing things I love lol, it’s just good. 10 out of 10.

Jinx

Ongoing | Mingwa | 2019 released

Adding another person on my hit list to stabby stab if I ever came across them on the street :D.

The Spooky Love Tale of Gongchan Seol

Complete | Yse | 2019 released

I love the premise and the way it started was so interesting I almost wished it was a drama or anime because I think that’s a really cool idea for them to be the only two who can see the ghosts that Gongchan comes up with. But I think it kinda went a little downhill for me when they interested blondie, he just dragged it down for no reason :/. And Youngmin’s possessiveness just gets old after a while to the point to where I feel like he seems a bit toxic, and I could’ve done without the reveal that he was insane enough to use it to get close to Gongchan and he wasn’t actually afraid of them, that was a stupid plot twist and kinda ruins the comic so I’d rather pretend that scene didn’t exist. I get they need to make a living and may be attached to the characters but authors need to stop dragging comics out just for the sake of drawing it out sometimes, this could have been one season and ended with them getting together and maybe a time skip of Gongchan getting his book serialized and or published or he ended up writing a new one. But other than that it was cute and I’ll probably read it again, just no the blondie arc again. 7 out of 10

My Husband Who Actually Turned Out to Be My Wife

Complete | Tsushima tsushima | 2019 released

Heart no Kakurega

Complete | Natsume Isaku | 2012 released

I want to give this a 10/10, but I hate how Jin and Momo's relationship developed. Raping someone in their sleep is a no-no, and kissing without consent. I skipped their whole arc because I was like, aww, I thought they were hiding it, not that they weren't together, and Momo wasn't into it, and Jin was pushing it. But other than that, everything else is excellent. I got attached to all the characters; I can fricking remember their names. The girls are so sweet, especially Ayano, and I love how Hazuki threatened Ichimaru not to fall in love with Ayano lmao. I low-key ship the girls together. I like how it was a good balance of all the characters' appearances and relationships. Izumi and Haruto's relationship is hands down one of the best I have seen in a long time. Izumi is so understanding of Haruto's shortcomings and most definitely autism-coded quirks, and he is just so patient with him and accepts him for who he is. I was worried about the age gap tag, but it fell under my ok age limit (0-5 and 6-10), and they're both adults, so it's just right. THIS IS HOW YOU DO AGE GAP PEOPLE. I love how they're both just such airheads for each other, and the way Izumi acted during the Ichimaru arc puts him in my book as one of the best "seme" characters I have seen in a long time. Reading this makes me want to live where my neighbors would just become my friends lmao. I definitely will reread this.

High Key x Low Key

Complete | Haida nanako | 2022 released

9.5 out of 10 MY GOD IT IS RIDICULOUSLY HARD TO FIND WHOLESOME POLY RELATIONSHIPS IN BLs. All their dynamics were so sweet and I like that the conflict of Yuusuke liking Kei. I didn't expect that at all. And i like how it closed off their arc in the end. Most threesome or poly relationship mangas always start with a love triangle and the two tops* don't ever like fall in love, they just tolerate each other. All the focus is on the bottom, but FINALLY they all just love each other equally in this one. No character feels like an outlier. Only tiny gripe, that would have propelled this manga into unforgettable mastapeece territory is if Yuusuke and Kei had a chance to do it together, or interact romantically. Cuz all we got was the kiss in the last chapter and their talk at the beach. I need like another side-story or something so they can more time together but other than that it was all good. NO RAPE. NO SEXUAL HARASSMENT. NO NON-CON. JUST PURE FLUFF FOR ONCE. All the characters are so fun to get attached to. This is definitely one I hope to forget quickly so I can read it again.

Far from Romance

Complete | Amamiya | 2000 released

9 out of 10 This was so fun. I loved that they didn't fall in love immediately and the reveal was gradual not immediate. I think that makes the progression feel better. The art was so pretty. Only thing is the dumb American/British kissing greeting or thanks stereotype lmao. Again: THIS IS A CUSTOM OF THE ITALIANS AND THE FRENCH. WE DON'T DO THIS LMAO, ESPECIALLY ON THE LIPS. IF ANYONE DOES THIS AND CLAIMS THAT THIS IS A CUSTOM THEY MIGHT BE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF YOU. But other than that I didn't have an issue. I like that british guy didn't force himself on Arata (aside from the kissing in his sleep scene, could've done without that) and he was patient and gave him space to decide what he wanted. That was nice. And it was so fun to see them go from average coworkers to friends to lovers. We stan healthy stories and healthy communication- I mean Horensou :3.
