High Key x Low Key
9.5 out of 10 MY GOD IT IS RIDICULOUSLY HARD TO FIND WHOLESOME POLY RELATIONSHIPS IN BLs. All their dynamics were so sweet and I like that the conflict of Yuusuke liking Kei. I didn't expect that at all. And i like how it closed off their arc in the end. Most threesome or poly relationship mangas always start with a love triangle and the two tops* don't ever like fall in love, they just tolerate each other. All the focus is on the bottom, but FINALLY they all just love each other equally in this one. No character feels like an outlier. Only tiny gripe, that would have propelled this manga into unforgettable mastapeece territory is if Yuusuke and Kei had a chance to do it together, or interact romantically. Cuz all we got was the kiss in the last chapter and their talk at the beach. I need like another side-story or something so they can more time together but other than that it was all good. NO RAPE. NO SEXUAL HARASSMENT. NO NON-CON. JUST PURE FLUFF FOR ONCE. All the characters are so fun to get attached to. This is definitely one I hope to forget quickly so I can read it again.
Far from Romance
9 out of 10 This was so fun. I loved that they didn't fall in love immediately and the reveal was gradual not immediate. I think that makes the progression feel better. The art was so pretty. Only thing is the dumb American/British kissing greeting or thanks stereotype lmao. Again: THIS IS A CUSTOM OF THE ITALIANS AND THE FRENCH. WE DON'T DO THIS LMAO, ESPECIALLY ON THE LIPS. IF ANYONE DOES THIS AND CLAIMS THAT THIS IS A CUSTOM THEY MIGHT BE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF YOU. But other than that I didn't have an issue. I like that british guy didn't force himself on Arata (aside from the kissing in his sleep scene, could've done without that) and he was patient and gave him space to decide what he wanted. That was nice. And it was so fun to see them go from average coworkers to friends to lovers. We stan healthy stories and healthy communication- I mean Horensou :3.
Mitsuru-kun no Mitsugenai Haru ga Kuru
1st story: 5 out of 10 THEY SHOULD'VE SWITCHED. IF YOU HAVE TWO TOPS MAKE THEM SWITCH. THIS IS DISCRIMINATION AGAINST SHORT TOPS >:(. 2nd story: 8 out of 10 Honestly wish it was longer cuz it was so funny and sweet. Even though the romance is the focus it's crazy how deep it goes. There's always something to live for, or someone. Even if things seem hopeless in the moment there's a always chance things will get better in the future. Just gotta keep living well. :D Altogether 6.5 out of 10
Kabukichou Bad Trip
OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS ACTUALLY A BDSM STORY THAT'S ACTUALLY HEALTHY AND WHERE THEY ACTUALLY COMMUNICATE AND THEY'RE THE SAME HEIGHT AND THEY ACTUALLY LOVE EACH OTHER AND THE SEME IS NOT AN ASSHOLE. WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE. 10/10 definitely recommend. And I love the last arc in the second volume.
Number Call
9.5 out of 10 This mangaka never misses I swear- This is so perfect. I like that they act like highschool boys, LOOK and ACT like highschool boys. Sad that I have to be excited about that but thank goodness it's here lol. A really nice strangers to lovers story. The premise is so simple but very amusing. Thanks to the translator for making it accessible for people who don't read or understand Japanese. I got so attached to them both, I wanna know what happens after they graduate TT TT. I just took half a point off because it's so short.
Nakanai Hotaru
1. 8.5 out of 10 Someone pointed out that he never was able to get another job in the story and now I can't not think about that so I'll kindly take some points off for leaving that part too ambiguous. However, it was a nice childhood friends to lovers story. Their relationship progression does suffer a little bit from the usual short manga problem, but what the author was able to accomplish is still fine. 2. 9 out of 10 I love chef x chef stories lol. I mean I get a cute gayness and delicious food. Though I wish I could've seen the restaurant they went to, maybe it would've taken more time to draw the food, who knows. I like that the guy apologized for pushing himself onto the apprentice. CONSENT IS KEY FOLKS. Especially if it's a workplace romance. I found the fact that the apprentice was trying to put some effort into their relationship very endearing, even though he probably saw some things he shouldn't have lol. All together is 9 out of 10 for me :3
Hana To Usagi
1. 8.5 out of 10 I really liked how the delivery guy helped bunny guy get out of his comfort zone and helped him get out more. I do wish their story was little longer, that way we'd have much more time for development. As someone with social anxiety, the delivery guy forcing him to take his mask off even though it was really hard for him was kinda iffy. Other than that very very cute :3. 2. 9 out of 10 Would've been a 10 out of 10 had they clarified their relationship lmao. But if they were just friends or acquaintances they had a really great relationship. You can never go wrong with a musician story after all. 3. 8 out of 10 Yet another story where all their problems would be solved if they just switched smh. However, their relationship was sweet as well and I found their interactions to be really funny. Altogether it's an 8.5 for me.
