Dream Away

Unpopular Opinion (probably): I don't like the side couple. I'm sorry. (/TДT)/ I tried so hard to like them, but I couldn't get into it. I get what dynamic they were trying to do, and it made sense in the beginning, but I thought it would be something they both realized gradually. I don't like that Geonwoo forced himself to try and like Seohun so they could keep their friendship. That doesn't feel right to me. I also wanted to spend more time with the main couple because the side couple got boring after a while, too. It got to the point where it was annoying when they would randomly interrupt Jungyun's moments. I've seen the childhood friend's one-sided crush plot before. Can we focus on the psychic ability thing since that's how the comic started in the first place? I get that the author didn't know what else to do with Jungwoo and Doyun, but they could've ended it earlier. I wanted more of their fluffy shenanigans. The part where they help Jungwoo and his grandma is the best part of the comic. Imagine a sequel comic of a Jihan using his psychic abilities to solve more crimes and mysteries or help people at his college out, while Doyun is the protective bf that keeps him from getting into trouble or killed and helps him investigate. Maybe we get to find out where his psychic abilities came from and what it was like growing up with them. That seems more fun. The Jungwoo plot was weird; like why did we spend five chapters in a dark alleyway fighting Jungwoo? They made him out to be this villain determined to mess up their relationship, but he felt like a troll from a 4chan forum incarnate. The weird group project sub-plot was not interesting at all. I forgot they even had a project until they randomly brought it up again, like, "Oh yeah, I forgot they had that. What happened to that anyway, and why are we still talking about it." It ended up not being that serious. Why did we dedicate entire chapters to this thing? Imma stop because I sound like an angry British commentary Youtuber. Jungyun's relationship was great; they were the best part of the comic, and I wish I had more time with them. Anyways, good night. I give this a 6.5 out of 10

The Good Teacher

Complete | Eeej | 2020 released

8 out of 10 Kinda wanted to know more about the uke's background in acting but other than that it was pretty fine. It was hilarious seeing him actually try to teach him even though he knew it was just a joke lmao. Also it's so refreshing to see a strangers to lovers couple actually get to know each other over a course of time rather than just falling love after 2 days or weeks. (honestly that's why I prefer strangers to best friends to lovers cuz strangers to lovers story will skip the "Get to know" step) only thing is Now that someone pointed it out I can't unsee it now and I gotta take a point off for a light haired seme TT TT I just hate seeing it so often LIKE WHY ARE THEY ALWAYS BLONDE OR SOMETHING.

Chou to Hana no Kankeisei

I remember that I really loved this manga, but I only remembered the healthy couple that was a sequel to the other one and not the side story.

My Way With You

Complete | Upi | 2019 released

YALL. THIS WAS SO WHOLESOME I WANTED TO CRY, AND I DON'T CRY READING COMICS THAT EASILY. I love Upi's work so much. Their art style, combined with their incredible stories, is fantastic. I loved seeing them get to know each other, learn about their trauma, and get engaged. It happened so naturally, which is super rare in BL comics. They also had great chemistry outside of their s*x life and such healthy communication. Also, a super underrated thing is that I'm glad they had friends and a life outside of each other. Seeing them introduce each other to the people who mattered, their friends and deceased family members, was so wholesome. Strangers to Friends to Lovers is my favorite trope (although it might be more like s*x friends here). I loved that it was revealed that they were each other's firsts for everything; everyone doesn't get that lucky. I feel like it's the right length, too. Their story progression was perfect for a short comic. Sometimes, these short stories can feel like they end too soon or rush through everything, but this was just right. ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
