Believe My Sign
So cute, a good story that you can binge read in a day
You and I can't do this
Very cute. Two green flags. I like how that other asshole was never considered a second male lead from the very start (when his identity was revealed) and the mc never gave in and his decision remained the same until the very end. I love how the ml always asks for consent and boundaries while always being upfront and respectful. The communication, the consent, the way they are honest with each other is such a breath of fresh air
Friends at First
The plot is pretty interesting but also the author is also over dramatic when it comes to story telling which isn't a problem in and of itself but it gets a bit much real quick. I get needing some plot points and build up for scenes but the amount of SA and suicide attempts is just crazy. Edit after finishing: IM SO PISSED. WHY THE HELL Huge rant. Even before I reached the end I just didn't really like it for a few reasons. The main character (mc) I liked the mc and sometimes, I liked that he could stick up for himself and I also liked the theme of a closeted man finally finding freedom and closure in his identity. - But sometimes.. oh man. Sometimes he could really just get on my nerves on how he was written. Idk if it's just the story's plot (the "novel") or the cliches that this author used at times to make him seem weak and pure, like constantly falling over and other such things, both big and small. There is nothing wrong with feminine men btw but (because authors tend to make the male characters just a stand in for women) it's feels kind of icky when they talk about how woman-like and 'seductively pure' he is. If written right, it can be used in a discriminatory manner to use between characters, but at other times it's not, and it's just the author painting him in a golden light. The novel The amount of SA was kind of unnecessary even if the excuse was the novel. Why would the original Sungwoo from reality even send something like that? Talk about welcome gift. How is the mc not grossed out by the fact he wrote revenge porn about him getting molested and constantly defiled at the age of 19? Someone check that mfs digital footprint. But even if the mc feels guilty, he didn't even question his behavior or curse him for it, and the fact it's revealed that it was actually written out of longing or whatever.. Makes no fckn sense. Too many plot holes. The ending was WAY too rushed. It just kind of felt like the mc knew everything yet we were literally just left in the dark the entire time just nodding out head and trying to keep pace. Personally I did want him to go back home, because be fr even if he loves Yujin, life there would be absolutely horrible for him. He was so ready to give up his original purpose for something that wasn't even absolute. Yujin. I feel like at the end, after the first time they agreed to have sex with each other, it just kind of felt more like lust than love. He probably did love the mc. But at times, especially twords the end. They're love felt so damn empty. It had almost no closure. One always thought he was just "someone with the same face", stand in, and the other didn't even take him as a real person until the very end. And finally, although I personally don't care for this much. The cover insinuates that this is a love triangle but it's .. really not. Him and the butler have no chemistry. None. I don't like when stories throw in random love triangles as an accessory. With this it just felt even more unnecessary because his 'romantic love' if he even had any, affected the plot by an absolute 0. Lol Sorry for ranting. I probably have more to say but I feel like if I don't rant before I put this story to the back of my mind, I will actually not be able to sleep tonight. I was honestly more interested in the opening past scene more than the actual storyline of the novel and such. I honestly would have loved to just cut out all the other bullshit and see a story where the mc and ml meet up in the future and try to work things out Conclusion: much wasted potential
Unluckily Lucky
I read this a long time ago I'm just putting it back here
