Surprised how much I love this. Comic does a very good job making it clear the "uncle" is manipulating her. You understand how everyone got to be in the positions they're in, but you still hate the people you should hate. The Uncle is awful, but he still has a side that cares about her and by the time he realizes it, it's too late and she hates him. But they don't write it so you'll forgive him. He's just as selfish as ever. It's nice to see actually complex villains who are genuinely human, but also genuinely awful, instead of the whole "well they were abused so all the evil stuff is ok" B'S. Nothing he does is good, and the reader is not supposed to see it as good. You understand why the FL would fall for her abuser, butt the reader doesn't get caught into doing the same, which is really hard to do (see Joker/Harley, Killing Stalking). Masterfully done!
