i can probably never read this again but it will stay with me for a long long time. one of the most ridiculous things people expect from potential partners are good relationships to the parents. i've never understood that. there are parents out there that sell their children, beat their children, rape them and make them feel worthless. it's not a moral failing on your part that you don't have a good relationship with your parents. so, why are we still treating it like that? For victims of abuse, i truly wish you the best and may your abusers burn.
