Bekssi's manga / #psychological(5)

At the End of the Road

Complete | Haribo | 2016 released

Hands down my favorite manhwa. It's psychological and inteligent, and violent but not excessively so. There are some popular korean manhwa out there right now that are so violent and rape-y that I can't justify reading them. The violence in this, however, is not constant, and it definitely adds to the plot and the complexity of the characters. Taemin and woojin are so goddamn complex and the author is a genius at writing banter like damn. The banter is a hell of a lot sharper in Korean but ricepunch's translations were pretty amazing. The official English releases are a lot shittier tbh but that's all we got now. Ngl though I really despise Jiwook. He's such a slimy little worm.

Acid Town

Ongoing | kyuugou | 2008 released

Oh gosh, finally another manga to join my all time favorites. I tried reading this years ago and couldn't get into it but this time around I'm totally hooked. I'm amazed at the complexity of the world-building and character development. I love Hyoudou and Tetsuji so much, and honestly Reiji too although he's somewhat of an antagonist. Excepting Wang, all of the "villains" have such fleshed out backstories that I sympathize with them. The chairman is so fucked up that I wouldn't care if Reiji and Masatsugu destroyed the gang if it weren't for Hyoudou. Gahhhh I'll probably be dead before this is complete but it's a masterpiece nonetheless.
