Lover Boy
Very Korean drama-esque. Classic slow burn and realistic drama. A younger college student falls for his older male friend whom he hasn't seen since childhood. His hyung now has a boyfriend, but has a soft spot for the dongsaeng he used to love spoiling.
Fools
A sunbae in college gradually falls for his cute hoobae, whom he knows is gay. He is confused by his attraction because he has never considered being attracted to another male. This is a very realistic drama about a university student who gradually realizes his homosexual attraction. In Korea, homosexuality is hardly acknowledged, and many people don't believe that it even exists. The homophobia isn't so overt as it is in other countries, which is why the protagonist slowly comes to recognize his feelings.
Exciting Feelings
Beautiful slow build romance between Kim Norae, a somewhat quirky tomboy, and Baek Seola, the beautiful and popular queen of her college department. Very realistic and beautiful story. The characters are three dimensional and lovely. The story will never be finished, due to the author/artist's illness. Still a worthwhile read, though. It's absolutely my favorite f x f comic. It's not filled with the male gaze, like much of the yuri content out there. It's a very realistic story about two young women who slowly fall in love. Update: the author Ssamba has passed away from her illness. She left us this beautiful story for which I will always be greatful.
Here U Are
Five stars for the art, three stars for the story. The art is so beautiful and detailed that the first few chapters were a bit overwhelming. The artist has simplified their style a bit so throughout the chapters so that it is still aesthetically pleasing but less overpowering. However the story is very slow to get going and not particularly compelling at this point. It has potential though, so I'm still anticipating future updates. Update: This is currently in my top 3 favorite webcomics. Story is more like 4 stars are this point. Still slow moving but very engaging and sweet. It’s the slow build and misunderstanding angst of the century. Grrrrr. And the art! Too beautiful to stand it!!
Acid Town
Oh gosh, finally another manga to join my all time favorites. I tried reading this years ago and couldn't get into it but this time around I'm totally hooked. I'm amazed at the complexity of the world-building and character development. I love Hyoudou and Tetsuji so much, and honestly Reiji too although he's somewhat of an antagonist. Excepting Wang, all of the "villains" have such fleshed out backstories that I sympathize with them. The chairman is so fucked up that I wouldn't care if Reiji and Masatsugu destroyed the gang if it weren't for Hyoudou. Gahhhh I'll probably be dead before this is complete but it's a masterpiece nonetheless.
Mou Ichido, Nando Demo
An accident causing Takahiro to lose his memory reduces his live-in lover to a roommate. Takahiro believes himself to be straight and is confused by his attraction to his friend. Kotou Tarou is determined to let Takahiro fall in love with him on his own, so he keeps their former relationship status secret. There have a few instances over the years where I've gone looking for this story so I'm finally adding it to a list so I won't lose it again.
