A Cat's Tale

Complete | Hyunjoong kim,Saehim kwon | 2019 released

5/5 Before anyone reads this, they should first understand that this manga IS violent and it isn't in the way most people assume of violence with guns and blood everywhere. It has a more deeper discomfort for people who are light hearted might find extremely uncomfortable. Essentially, you could watch Baccano! and this and leave thinking this story was much more discomforting than the former because of how the violence is achieved. So, when people want to read this, I'd advise to keep in mind that it is pretty uncomfortable at some points, especially near the end. Anyway, the story is very soft and it gives off the appearance of something that is a sweet summer story. However, it is a lot more darker and twisted, creeping in on you as you read it. It's almost more so creating a pre-modern era where there is miscommunication as well as things ranging from jealousy and revenge and so on. And it does so in a way where the reader doesn't really know for sure if they're looking at something from a weird historical manga or a slice of life manga. It's not fun to read, and it isn't really one of those happy ending, or at least for me, it didn't really seem like a "happy" ending. The way how it's narrated makes it sometimes seem as if the narrator is nonchalant to everything, but they really aren't and care a lot about what is happening. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who won't find it unpleasant to read through because it is really dark.
