IRIS - Lady with a Smartphone
For something that's in the title, she barely uses her phone. It gets some action, a few inventions, but feels massively underplayed in the story compared to what it could be. Also, romance is a subplot that tries to act like more than it is. It's cute but just feels really left in the background. It's more of a historical drama revenge plot, which for that was pretty ok. Not amazing but not terrible. The relationships with the other guys were super cute, it would've been a majorly redeeming aspect if it wasn't only shown in a few chapters.
Positively Yours
Pretty typical accidental pregnancy storyline, most of the plot consists of the MC being unable to accept her feelings and trying to get through that. The antagonist setup was painfully obvious, our villainess was pretty much a throwaway doll for development with all the personality she had. It can definitely get frustrating at the beginning because the MC pretty much just goes through a bunch of events and reacts with 'oh no, but I can't because I'm so sure it'll turn out badly' every single time. I do like their relationship later on, though, so it wasn't bad in the end.
The Monster Duchess and Contract Princess
There's a lot of things to like about this one, the family members are adorable, MC's powers are super interesting and cute, the ending was super satisfying. Even with all that, I can't get over how much I don't like the MC herself. She's presented as having these genius level magic powers that make her incredibly strong, but it rarely comes up until the end. Most of the time she's throwing herself head first into trouble and then crying as a damsel in distress until her family can come save her. For most of the story instead of her helping it would've saved everyone time and trouble if she had just stayed home. Yeah, she's a kid with trauma. That doesn't make it any better to read her shout that she's gonna be helpful for once and end up just sitting somewhere crying.
This Is An Obvious Fraudulent Marriage Webtoon
Adorable relationship between the ML and MC, and without a bunch of extra misunderstandings (though there were a couple) it progressed at a pretty fast pace, which was refreshing. It was just a really feel-good, interesting read. The ending was slightly anticlimactic but I also understand why it happened that way considering this is a zero-angst kind of read. Great for relaxing and enjoying some cuteness!
Why are you doing this, my Duke!? Webtoon
Honestly super unique compared to a lot of stories with similar settings. The slow switch from his magic personality loving her to his actual personality was sooo satisfying and cute. I don't think I could ever get tired of this couple. The backstory that led up to their love was so complicated that I got a little lost but intriguing all the same, I adored it in the end!
Doctor Elise
The. Art. Gets. Better. It gets unimaginably better even if it takes a bit. Also, it was just super interesting all around, it was great to see all the surgeries and medical things happening. There's nothing better than a story that actually implements the advantages of previous lives instead of tossing them aside and forgetting about them. It really dragged after the war arc, but mostly redeemed itself by the end. Perfect finale and overall really satisfying read.
Solo Leveling
Amazing. Beautiful art, story, consistent character, interesting action/plot, antihero MC. One of my favorite reads, although the ending was a bit of a cop out.
The Third Ending
So so cute in the beginning and takes a turn for the smut after the first season. Great relationship and amazing smut scenes in general. The only thing was that as much as I love yandere's there were several moments that pulled me out of the story as I asked myself... Is this a little too toxic? Even though I say that I adored the ML's obsessive behavior and very, very well-drawn expressions. I live for the faces yandere's make behind their partner's back and this one was *chefs kiss*. In the end ML was decently self-aware of most times he became toxic and reigned it in, so I was able to enjoy it!
Black Mirror
My favorite part of this is the ending. No 'but what about morals?' qualms and back and forth, just acceptance for what he is. Super refreshing. Also, at no point in the story did I fully understand what was going on with the horrors and supernatural. And I mean that in the best way possible. I spent the whole story trying to follow clues along with MC to figure out what his past was and what that meant was going on in the present.
