I'll Be The Matriarch In This Life
IRIS - Lady with a Smartphone
For something that's in the title, she barely uses her phone. It gets some action, a few inventions, but feels massively underplayed in the story compared to what it could be. Also, romance is a subplot that tries to act like more than it is. It's cute but just feels really left in the background. It's more of a historical drama revenge plot, which for that was pretty ok. Not amazing but not terrible. The relationships with the other guys were super cute, it would've been a majorly redeeming aspect if it wasn't only shown in a few chapters.
I'm the Ex-Girlfriend of a Soldier
Pretty interesting background of this story. I love how MC wasn't the original character or a transmigrator, but instead someone who came to be after combining the memories of the two. Also, there was super great communication between the MC and ML, secrets and lies were revealed but are no match for being open about your feelings and talking them out! The climax of the author showing up was a little too deux ex-machina for me, kinda felt like it was cringe and made the whole thing fall a little flat.
Can We Become a Family?
Kill the Hero
Seemed decent enough from the beginning to the middle, but the end felt super generic and rushed. I liked MC, his sidekick/friend, and the power system. What sucked were the villains, they felt so one-dimensional even though they had clear motivations. The climax didn't have a proper build-up at all, it just came out of nowhere and led to the end immediately. The ending was a literal deus-ex-machina where a bunch of gods that we have never seen or even heard of joined in the fight so MC would win. I did enjoy the epilogue though, where all the powers disappeared from the world (except for MC hehe). Gained half a star from ending on a good note. 2.5/5 stars
The Live
I tried so hard to keep reading for the MC. His motivations were perfect, trying to get back his wife and daughter. It made everything he did so meaningful. Then the way he connected to the side character and treated him like a younger brother was wholesome and such a strong bond! What I couldn't deal with was the pacing. So many fights happen where I just feel bored, we get so much information that doesn't push the plot forward (just throwing fluff at us). Like I don't care about anything other than MC getting his family back and I just want to skip to the end and see if it happened or not.
