I'll Be The Matriarch In This Life
This has really good art. But I think the first chapter was too quick-paced. The author shows that Florentia has a sad past where she loses everything, from house, to royal status. But I don’t sympathize with her at all, I wish they showed more scenes of the consequences of when Florentia was kicked out of the house, and she was homeless, instead of her just drinking at a bar and being hit by a carriage. She reincarnates to when she was 7 years old and is soon classified as a ‘genius’. It’s very unrealistic for a toddler to present business ideas and read thick chapter books. The plot is that Florentia reincarnates and gets revenge on the people that kicked her out of the house. It’s not really interesting since I know that she’ll succeed. And I feel like everyone is really dumb compared to Florentia, who is seven years old. Especially some of the family members who have zero personality. The villains in this story don’t really feel like an obstacle at all for Florentia. Whatever, let’s just see how the story turns out.
The Princess Imprints a Traitor
Mmm this is interesting. FL dies by being poisoned by her bitchass sister after living an awful life. ML was apparently that bitchass sister’s bf, it turns out that ML loved FL all along and was trying to get with her by ruining the empire (?). FL reincarnates and wants to avoid dying again. The art is quite nice. I love how the author portrays that FL is not a person with high status within the royal family and how she experiences many obstacles to become the crown empress. And I like that there’s actual difficulty to those obstacles instead of FL just breezing through all of it. Excited for the revenge this has to offer Everything went downhill. No longer interested.
The Lady I Served Became a Young Master
Boring. The art is pretty but there are some anatomical problems. I don’t really like the female lead’s personality, she’s just not it. Why does she act like a total dumbo sometimes? She rejected the male lead even after seeing how much he loved her. I just wanna slap her in the face. The plot? Boring as shit. Just a romance story and I find the fact that the male lead was forced to pretend to be a girl pretty weird. I don’t really like how the female lead plays in the character of a maid either, it’s similar to “Sincerely, I became the duke’s maid”. And I hated that manwha. Dropped.
Under the Oak Tree
Wow, it’s horrible. There really was no base plot in the beginning. ML comes to take FL from her abusive home and then they make love for the rest of the time… and that’s it. FL is always fucking anxious and whiny but never does anything to improve the situation. At first, I thought that her anxiousness was cute and in someway, relatable. But now it’s fucking obnoxious and in every chapter, she’s complaining or worried about how she’s not good enough for ML. There’s also never enough communication between the two of them and it’s clear that ML really doesn’t understand the trauma that FL went through. There’s no plot and all of the characters are very dull. I hate how there are no conflicts, the servants of the new castle should not be as welcoming as they are to our FL. And now all their relationship problems are ‘resolved’ with smut and unconditional love. And the smut scenes aren’t even good. It’s stupid af. The art is nice, I just wish there was more to the story.
Yubisaki to Renren
Meh, it’s just a mediocre romance story. There is no depth to Yuki and Itsuomi’s relationship. And I find the trope ‘handsome guy who every girl likes, sets his eyes on a shy girl’ to be extremely boring. Y’all only like this story because of itsuomi let’s be fr. You lonely motherfuckers just want a guy like itsuomi to love and care for you, bc you’re nothing special. This is the same case with Yuki, except she’s the main character of a manga. Idk why the fuck Yuki acts like a 10 year old sometimes, is it because she grew up being deaf or something? Itsuomi is really just a guy with good looks, there’s nothing more to him. Apparently he really likes traveling abroad and makes Yuki yearn for him. Their romance scenes are really cliche and bleh. Yuki flinches whenever he touches her. I’d understand if she was startled because she didn’t hear him coming but that isn’t the case, it’s lowkey weird. To y’all, she’s “pure”. To me, she’s immature. Not to mention, Yuki is oblivious af. Cant you see that your male bestfriend likes you? Bruh. I don’t like Yuki and the side characters literally have no personality. And Itsuomi’s whole personality is being handsome. I’ve seen plenty of romance mangas like this, don’t need another copy and paste where FL is deaf. People who like an interesting story with more in-depth relationships can look away. Giving this a bonus star because of the art.
See You In My 19th Life
What? 19 lives is a little excessive. Jieum doesn’t even mention any in-depth story of her past lives. In her 18th life, she falls in love with a boy and gets into a car accident and dies while trying to save this boy. If you’ve lived 18 lives, you’ve probably experienced everything life has to give. That’s why I don’t understand why and how Seoha became that special to her. Is it the power of love or something? The author killed her off too early during the 18th life and left an underdeveloped relationship between Jieum and Seoha. When the car accident happened, it was really anticlimactic and I didn’t feel sad at all. Clearly, the author just wanted to get started on the main story as soon as possible. I find Jieum’s efforts to seduce Seoha to be funny. But if I were Seoha, and someone randomly confessed to me, I would think that person is either a creep or a stalker. When Jieum finally revealed that she was Joowon, I expected it to be satisfying but it was lacking. There are a few holes in this manga and the plot isn’t exactly special. Read on Webtoon.
The Flower of Heaven
Well, that was utter garbage. I initially had low expectations but this fails at all of my standards. FL supposedly transmigrates to a new world by falling off a cliff while trying to find flowers and wakes up at a new world in a pool of water. It is then revealed that she is a goddess and is basically kidnapped by the ML because he forces her to stay in that world. First of all, what the actual fuck? That is a terrible way to introduce the main characters. The readers have to look at the character portfolios in order to know wtf is going on. FL is a random ass botanist that dies after trying to search for a flower. Apparently, FL has floral powers and that’s why the author made her a botanist. Boring. At first, I expected a strong and clever FL, but she is actually incompetent and weak. You’d expect a ‘goddess’ who is supposed to save everyone from danger to be strong, right? But she nearly dies from her recklessness by being shot by an arrow whilst trying to go to the altar where she thinks that she transmigrated from. And the author doesn’t even mention why tf she was shot by an arrow. She’s still walking around near palace grounds, shouldn’t it be more heaviliy guarded especially because it’s an altar? She’s so fucking dumb and annoying. ML is also ignorant and has zero personality. I could care less about that magic curse that binds them together and how if one of them gets wounded, the other will take the same damage. The story vaguely hints that the ML and FL have met before but I don’t give a shit. At the beginning, FL was being stubborn asf and not listening to ML. After she saw that ML killed someone, I thought she’d be even more resistant but the very next day, she’s in his arms and is falling for him. And that white haired dude named Uriel instantly fell for the FL and makes ML jealous. How tf did Uriel instantly fall for her within 2 days of seeing each other? It’s unbelievably cliche and poorly written. Oh and that green-haired maid, it’s painfully obvious that she’s the spy that was sent by that person trying to kill FL. The author didn’t even try to make it discreet, like… we have brains with comprehension skills you know. Enough with the shitty characters, let’s talk about the nonsensical plot. In the prologue, it says that FL will save the world by fighting against this villain (?). FL doesn’t look like she has any supernatural powers besides from the time where a bunch of vines saved her from falling down from the altar. And why didn’t the vines stop the arrow instead? But surely a few vines won’t be enough to stop that villain, right? Or will the author bless the FL with OP powers and completely rush the story? Neither outcomes will turn out good. There’s no redeeming this.
Asmodian's Contract
Yurisina (a demon) transmigrates to the body of Princess Marianne who died because of a poisoning that was devised by the Queen. For the daughter of a demon king, Yurisina is too nice. I’d prefer it if she was ruthless and evil, same thing with her parents. Aren’t they the demon rulers or some shit? Why do they act so nice? At first, I thought that Yurisina would be powerful enough to get kill the Queen immediately but I was wrong. They were piling on a bunch of random things and straying from the plot. Some of the characters are full of bullshit. She spends more time fooling around with her knights than actually getting revenge. Because of that, the conflict between the Queen and Yurisina is a complete bore. That one knight named Gaston annoys me. What’s with the sudden romance between him and Sir Sarah? Wtf. “The song that Sir Sarah was singing—was the favorite song of Gaston’s ex-lover.” Why did the author want to add some hopeless romance between Gaston and Sir Sarah? Like… go write that somewhere else as a separate story. I don’t like our FL, she’s sorta obnoxious. And it’s so painfully obvious that the blonde prince is already in love with her even though they’ve only met for less than a week. Eric (our ML) has a traumatic past but I don’t care for it. He has zero personality traits. He’s very aloof and just… there? Now that I think about it, Marianne is the only one who looks mildly appealing and everyone else looks like a dump-truck. There are also some anatomical problems in the art. The knights who should be bulkier than Yurisina, literally look as skinny as her. Shouldn’t knights have muscles from training? I don’t understand why they look so thin when standing next to Yurisina. I like how each character has a distinctive face. Otherwise, the art is nothing that can save the shitty story-line.
It Was All You
A good but oddly flawed story? Slight spoilers in this comment. Read this manwha on Webtoon. The plot seems so good but there is just so much going on at the same time, and at times that isn’t a good thing. There are plot twists and nerve-racking cliff hangers at every corner of this story. Somehow, it still doesn’t interest me that much. It’s not shocking like “Woah! What the heck was that?!” It’s more like “Wooow! Ok.” From the beginning, I knew that something was odd when I saw that everyone was out to get Yuri. During the arc where Yuri attempted to kill her ex, I thought it was a load of horseshit. And during Victor’s time with Yuri, he defied several “A.I laws” so that made me suspicious if he was a human or not. So if you really think hard about it, the plot twist was a little predictable. I LOVE Heo Yoojin’s character, finally a true villain whose evil without some sort of tragic backstory behind their actions! I hope she shocks me even more with her antics. Victor and Yuri’s relationship is quite.. meh. I know that they have been through a lot together, but due to the fact that he was introduced as an A.I, I can’t feel the deep connection between them. The art is quite bland and sometimes the characters seem expressionless. It also lacks details and depth but it’s passable.
